A look at the latest power rankings in Central Ohio

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Less than a week away from the district tournament draw, things are heating up in Central Ohio basketball. Let's take a look at our latest power rankings in all four divisions.

Division I

Thanks to snow and cold cancellations, there wasn't a whole lot of movement in Division I this past week. Let's take a look at our order heading into the all-important week before the tournament draw.

(team, record, strength of record points)

1. Dublin Coffman (17-0, 23) - Rocks will look to stay unbeaten at home against No. 19 Westerville North on Tuesday before heading to Central Crossing on Friday. Injuries have plagued Coffman a bit, however, the Rocks cast of role players have stepped up and will make this team even more dangerous when they get back to full strength for the tournament.

2. Hilliard Bradley (16-0, 19) - Bradley has a challenging week ahead with home matchups against No. 4 Hilliard Davidson and No. 12 Dublin Jerome. If the Jags are 19-0 by the end of the week, you could possibly see them jump Coffman for the top seed.

3. Pickerington Central (17-1, 25) - The Tigers seem to have found their groove and will look to improve to 20-1 with games against New Albany, Grove City and No. 11 Newark to end the week.

4. Hilliard Davidson (14-3, 14) - The dark horse in the area, Davidson can officially make its mark on the area if the Wildcats can upset Hilliard Bradley on Saturday.

5. Olentangy Liberty (14-4, 22) - The Patriots will be tested at home against No. 11 Newark on Tuesday before matchups against Westerville Central and Cincinnati Hughes to end the week. A top five seed seems imminent for Liberty.

6. Logan (12-3, 7) - One game this week at Vinton County. Logan has some ground to make up after a handful of weather cancellations in the last two weeks.

7. Pickerington North (14-4, 17) - The Panthers can notch two ranked wins against No. 9 Canal Winchester (home) and No. 10 Reynoldsburg (away) this week to solidify its resume heading into the tournament.

8. Walnut Ridge (14-2, 12) - Walnut Ridge will play four games in six days this week thanks to prior cancellations. The Scots are favored in all four matchups, as Walnut Ridge needs to simply win out for a spot in the City League title game.

9. Canal Winchester (17-1, 5) - Canal's loss to Groveport two weeks ago knocked the Indians down a peg, however, Tuesday's road matchup against No. 7 Pickerington North can put them right back on the map.

10. Reynoldsburg (14-4, 10) - The Raiders still don't have a signature win this year, however, Friday's home matchup against Pickerington North can give Reynoldsburg what it's missing.

11. Newark (15-3, 4)

12. Dublin Jerome (11-5, 5)

13. Delaware Hayes (12-5, 2)

14. Olentangy Orange (11-6, 8)

15. Northland (12-5, 4)

16. Thomas Worthington (13-5, 4)

17. Gahanna (12-6, 2)

18. Upper Arlington (12-5, 7)

19. Westerville North (10-8, 12)

20. Olentangy (9-8, 8)

DIVISION II

In Division II, there also aren't many changes, as Bishop Hartley moving up to No. 3 is really the only major move.

(team, record, strength of record points)

1. South (15-1, 16) - Bulldogs will play four games in six days, as Tuesday's road matchup at Africentric will be its toughest test before No. 4 (D3) Johnstown comes to town on Saturday. A 4-0 week for South all but guarantees a top seed for the Bulldogs in Division II.

2. Jonathan Alder (13-3, 2) - The Pioneers can lock up a top three seed on Tuesday when No. 5 DeSales pays a visit. Tuesday's matchup is a must win for Alder, who hasn't really been challenged all that much in the Central Buckeye Conference.

3. Bishop Hartley (10-7, 10) - Hartley notched its best win of the year on the road at DeSales last Friday, overcoming a 14-point fourth quarter deficit and relying on some big boy shots from Morgan Safford to win in overtime. The Hawks must do all they can to prevent a setback against St. Charles on Friday.

4. Bishop Watterson (9-7, 6) - Tied atop the Central Catholic League with DeSales, Watterson is off this week until a Saturday matchup against Whetstone.

5. DeSales (11-6, 9) - The Stallions suffered a big loss to Hartley and gave up its stranglehold of the CCL. A big week awaits the Stallions, as DeSales will play at No. 2 Jonathan Alder and No. 10 (D3) Bishop Ready this week before ending the weekend with a home date against No. 8 (D1) Walnut Ridge. We'll find out how legit DeSales is this week.

6. Granville (12-3, 3)

7. Beechcroft (12-5, 1)

8. London (16-2, 0)

9. Highland (12-6, 1)

10. Bexley (10-7, 4)

DIVISION III

Division III does not change one bit this week, as every team won the games they were supposed to last week.

(team, record, strength of record points)

1. Harvest Prep (13-2, 15) - The Warriors stayed on top in Division III this week as they handled their only test by talking down Fisher Catholic in dominant fashion. They have three favorable league matchups this week with Grove City Christian, Fairfield Christian and Millersport.

2. Worthington Christian (13-4, 15) - Worthington Christian extended their winning streak to five games last week as they took down Grove City Christian in convincing fashion on Saturday. They have two big games this week with a non-league contest against Buckeye Valley and huge MSL-Ohio matchup with Whitehall on Saturday.

3. Columbus Academy (12-4, 19) - Columbus Academy had an excellent week this week by picking up two solid wins over West Jefferson and Bexley. They host No. 10 Bishop Ready on Tuesday before heading to No. 6 Grandview for a huge league game on Friday.

4. Johnstown (13-2, 13) - The Johnnies took care of business in league play last week, taking down Newark Catholic in their only game to remain at No. 4 in the rankings. They host Lakewood on Tuesday in a favorable league game before taking on No. 1 (D2) South in a big matchup later in the week.

5. Fairbanks (15-2, 6) - Fairbanks stayed hot this week by extending their winning streak to six games with two home wins over Elgin and Trias. Currently leading the way in the OHC, the Panthers have two road league games this week against West Liberty Salem and Mechanicsburg.

6. Grandview Heights (10-5, 8)

7. Pleasant (13-4, 2)

8. Amanda-Clearcreek (12-5, 4)

9. West Jefferson (13-5, 5)

10. Bishop Ready (8-9, 6)

DIVISION IV

Much like Division I-III, there aren't many new changes in Division IV. Shekinah Christian joins the top five for the first time all year after upsetting Tree of Life and rolling in its two games over the weekend.

(team, record, strength of record points)

1. Bishop Rosecrans (13-2, 5) - After having the entirety of last week off due to weather and a light schedule, the Bishops remain at No. 1 in this week’s rankings. They will have a busy week with two league games against Wellington and Fairfield Christian to go along with a tough non-league contest at New Lexington on Thursday.

2. Berne Union (10-5, 3) - In one game of action last week, the Rockets suffered a tough league loss against Wellington on Monday. Currently on a three-game losing skid, they will look to rebound in a big way way with three games this week. After two road games to start the week against Fairfield Christian and Northside Christian, they will meet up with Wellington again on Saturday.

3. Fisher Catholic (10-6, 2) - The Irish took a tough league loss last week against Harvest Prep before having their Friday matchup with Wellington cancelled. Another team with a busy week, they will head to Crooksville and Grove City Christian and also will host Millersport.

4. Centerburg (12-6, 2) - Moving up one spot in this week’s rankings, the Trojans are as hot as anyone in Division IV, riding a four-game winning streak. They have a favorable matchup with Delaware Christian on Tuesday before a tough game at Northmor Friday.

5. Shekinah Christian (9-8, 2) - Making their debut in the rankings late in the season, Shekinah has been playing some very good basketball in the MOCAL lately. After winning four games last week, they host Granville Christian and Genoa Christian this week, both home games.
