WORTHINGTON, Ohio -- Yet another week and yet another broken record. Taking home a mind boggling 70 percent of more than 100,000 votes, Worthington Christian freshman guard DJ Moore is the Just Hoops Player of the Week.
Moore lapped the competition as no other contestant had more than 13 percent of the record breaking vote. The 6-foot-3 freshman guard is in the midst of a big-time first year campaign, as he combined for 45 points in ranked wins over Fairbanks and Grandview Heights last week.
One of the most talented freshman guards that we've seen in the last five years, Moore is the top player on a Worthington Christian squad that is primed to do damage in Division III. With great skill, size and speed, Moore is a difficult matchup for anyone, as he gives the Warriors an offensive boost that they did not have a season ago.
Moore is leading Worthington Christian with 18.7 points per game including 67 points in the Warriors' current three-game winning streak. The freshman will be put to the test on Friday as Worthington Christian hosts MSL-Ohio foe Columbus Academy in a prime time Division III match up.
