The junior from Big Walnut received a record 30,000 votes

SUNBURY, Ohio -- Another week. Another record. In an all-time classic battle, Big Walnut junior forward Kegan Hienton is the Just Hoops Player of the Week

In a record-breaking week, Hienton received nearly half of an all-time high of 62,476 votes. Taking home 30,155 votes, Hienton had the highest vote turnout in 270 Hoops history.

The junior forward is coming off a big week where he scored 43 points in two wins over Groveport and Westerville Central. The 6-foot-4 forward followed that up with 23 points on Tuesday in a tough loss to Olentangy Orange.

Through 10 games, Hienton is averaging 18.8 points per game, as he was been one of the top stock rising juniors in the Ohio Capital Conference. With great footwork in the post and the ability to stretch the floor, Hienton has been the single most important piece to Big Walnut's hot start.

Coming in second place was Canal Winchester junior forward Bilal Sow, who received nearly 24,000 votes, which is now second all-time. Sow and Hienton will do battle on Friday as Big Walnut heads to undefeated Canal Winchester.

Combining for a great battle for the Just Hoops Player of the Week award, look for Hienton and Sow to transfer that to the hardwood on Friday.

Check back on Sunday night to see our latest candidates for Just Hoops Player of the Week. With the ability to vote as many times as possible, our voters have created a ton of excitement in Central Ohio schools over the past few weeks - and we thank you for that.
