Dublin Coffman is the new No. 1 in Division I

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Officially at the halfway point in the season, the tournament picture is beginning to get a little clearer. With the majority of impact transfers becoming ineligible, Division I is in for a shake up with our latest power rankings.

1. Dublin Coffman (12-0) - After picking up road wins at No. 4 Pickerington North and No. 7 Upper Arlington last week, Dublin Coffman moves up two spots to No. 1. The Rocks are rolling at 12-0 and are not currently affected by transfer ineligibility or injuries. The Rocks have two more road tests this week at No. 8 Hilliard Davidson and Northland.

2. Hilliard Bradley (11-0) - Despite not having Jack Pugh for the last few weeks, the Jags have continued to roll and play its patented elite defense. We'll see if Bradley can win against elite competition this weekend as the Jags head to Flyin' to the Hoop to take on defending Florida state champion Oak Ridge. That comes a day after heading to No. 10 Thomas Worthington for a conference road test. If the Jags are 13-0 by this time next week, look for them to take the top spot.

3. Pickerington Central (12-0) - Currently down three starters, Pickerington Central falls back two spots but we still feel the Tigers are good as anyone. Without senior transfers Jay Rodgers and Sam Towns for the rest of the season, the Tigers lose valuable experience and two guys who were playing at a high level. Also out is senior Coleton Landis, who has missed the last few games with an injury. Central will get a tough test at home on Friday against rival Pickerington North.

4. Olentangy Liberty (9-2) - Liberty has not lost to an area opponent this season and will look to keep rolling on the road against Olentangy Orange and Centerville this week.

5. Pickerington North (9-2) - The Panthers lost a close one to Dublin Coffman last week by six points. North can redeem itself on Friday against rival Pickerington Central.

6. Canal Winchester (12-0) - Rolling at 12-0, Canal Winchester notched two signature wins at home against Chillicothe and Newark last week. Snapping Newark's 24-game OCC-Capital win streak, Canal is in sole possession of first place in the division. The Indians will hit the road to play Hamilton Township before hosting Big Walnut on Friday.

7. Walnut Ridge (9-2) - The Scots have a statement week ahead, as Walnut Ridge can virtually lock its place in the City League Championship with a win against undefeated South on Friday. The Scots will hit the road on Saturday to take on No. 2 (D2) DeSales.

8. Hilliard Davidson (9-2) - One of the top sleeper teams in the area, Hilliard Davidson has been solid throughout the entire season, dropping its only games to Dublin Coffman and a Max Martz led Upper Arlington. The Wildcats can shake up the area with a win at home against Coffman on Friday.

9. Reynoldsburg (10-3) - The Raiders have hung around the top 10 all year and can notch another ranked victory on the road at Gahanna on Friday.

10. Thomas Worthington (10-2) - Doubling last season's win total, Thomas Worthington has been better than expected to begin the year. The Cardinals have a chance to snap a two-plus year OCC win streak against Hilliard Bradley at home on Friday.

11. Newark (11-2) - Losing its first OCC conference game since it was in the vaunted Ohio division, the Wildcats fall back a few spots this week. Newark can pick up momentum on Friday at New Albany.

12. Delaware Hayes (8-3) - Falling by 15 points at Dublin Jerome on Tuesday, Delaware Hayes falls back four spots this week. The Pacers have two OCC tests this week against Marysville and Hilliard Darby, both at home.

13. Upper Arlington (7-3) - Upper Arlington has really struggled without Max Martz, losing both games last week to Olentangy and Dublin Coffman. The Golden Bears will not rest this week as Bishop Hartley comes to town on Tuesday before ending its week with games against Central Crossing and Andrews Osbourne.

14. Dublin Jerome (7-4) - The Celtics enter the top 15 for the first time all year thanks to a statement win over Delaware Hayes last week. Knocking down twice the amount of threes as they did all last year, Jerome is rolling and have quality losses by single digits to Hilliard Bradley, Newark and Thomas Worthington. Jerome has been improved this season due in large part to the emergence of junior guard Dan Lee.

15. Gahanna (9-4) - A young team dealing with injuries of their own, Gahanna has struggled to take down quality opponents, dropping both games to Olentangy Liberty and Pickerington Central last week. The Lions can make a statement at home this weekend with games against No. 9 Reynoldsburg and Whitehall.
