Another week of college basketball has come and gone. Let’s see how the local stars played this week.

Braden Norris (Hilliard Bradley/Oakland)- How about the week Norris had for Oakland? He averaged 13.5 PPG this week in 4 games and went 14-16 from 3. He’s currently leading the nation in 3-point percentage. Oh, and he also averaged 6.5 APG this week as well, including having 10 assists against Northern Illinois, the game in which he scored 18 points. Norris definitely was the MVP this week for the Columbus-based athletes.

- Nick Muszynski (St. Charles/Belmont)- It was another solid week for Nick. He scored 16 points and had 6 rebounds against Trevecca and followed that up with 13 points and 8 rebounds against Kennesaw State. He’s currently 5th in the nation in blocks per game with 3.4.

- Bethune-Cookman- The Wildcats only had one game this week, a tough loss against Omaha, 76-56. Houston Smith did his part though, scoring 11 points on 4-7 shooting and dishing out 3 assists.

- Dibaji Walker (Independence/Cleveland State)- Walker didn’t see the court much against Purdue Fort Wayne, but he did play 15 minutes against Ohio State in St. John’s arena. He scored 3 points.

- Seth Fuller (Dublin Coffman/Elon)- Fuller saw action in all 3 of Elon’s games this week. The Phoenix struggled going 0-3. He was able to contribute against Abilene Christian, scoring 3 points and grabbing 2 rebounds.

- Caden Sanchez (DeSales/High Point)- Sanchez played in both games this week for the Panthers. He scored 4 points against Air Force and had 2 points in a big win over East Carolina.

- Antoine Smith (Westerville South/Incarnate Word)- Smith didn’t have a strong as week as he hoped, but he still contributed in both games. He only scored 2 points against Northern Colorado, but followed that up with a solid 11 points and 3 rebounds against SIUE.

- Kent State Golden Flashes- Akiean Frederick didn’t play against Vanderbilt (head/neck injury) in Kent State’s big win on Friday, but he did contribute 12 point and 6 rebounds against Savannah State. BJ Duling played in both games, scoring 7 points against Savannah and 2 points against Vanderbilt. The Golden Flashes look like they could be one of the better teams in the MAC this year.

- Taevion Kinsey (Eastmoor/Marshall)- While Friday’s game against Maryland didn’t go as planned, Kinsey still had a solid game off the bench scoring 10 points and having 2 steals. He had 6 points and 4 rebounds earlier in the week against North Carolina A&T.

- Nick Ward (Gahanna/Michigan State)- Ward did exactly what he needed to do to help Michigan State pick up two massive wins this week. He scored 16 points and had 5 rebounds to help beat UCLA and Moses Brown, and he followed that up with 6 points against Texas and their extremely athletic big guys. He has to bring it again this week against Louisville and Rutgers. Ward also surpassed 1,000 points for his career last week.

- Sterling Manley (Pickerington Central/North Carolina)- Manley struggled to find his footing this week in Las Vegas. He only had 2 points against UCLA in 7 minutes after not scoring against Texas on Thursday. If the Tar Heels want to be considered elite, they are going to need some better games from Manley.

- Northern Kentucky Norse- Tate (DNP), Adrian Nelson 3 minutes against UCF.

- Dane Goodwin (Upper Arlington/Notre Dame)- After not seeing the court much last week, Goodwin bounced back and had a solid week. He scored 8 points against Duquesne and followed that up with 5 points and 4 rebounds against DePaul. The Irish will need him against Illinois this week.

- Eli McNamara (Pickerington North/Miami OH)- The Redhawks only had 1 game this week, a 30-point win over Army. McNamara scored 3 points in 11 minutes.

Ohio Bobcats- If anyone was going to match Norris for MVP this week, it would be Jason Carter. In 41 minutes, he scored 25 points and had 10 rebounds in OU’s win over Austin Peay. His partner from Columbus, Doug Taylor, scored 9 points and 9 rebounds in that game as well.

- Ohio State Buckeyes- It was another big week for the Buckeyes and the Wesson brothers. Kaleb scored 19 points in both games had 7 rebounds against Samford and 6 against Cleveland State. Andre scored 7 points against Samford and 11 points against Cleveland State. Danny Hummer continues to see action as well. Both brothers will have to deliver this week in big games against Syracuse and Minnesota.

- Javon Bess (Gahanna/Saint Louis)- Saint Louis didn’t get the win they wanted against Pittsburgh this week, but Bess continued to contribute. He scored 12 points in that game and followed that up with a 19-point, 6-rebound performance against Central Arkansas.

- Connor Kern (Pickerington Central/The Citadel)- Kern had 2 more solid games this week as The Citadel went 2-0. He had 10 points and 5 rebounds against James Madison and then scored 4 points in their big win over South Florida.

- Josh Gantz (Bishop Ready/UMass-Lowell)- Gantz continues to be one of the better players in the America East Conference. He scored 18 points and had 6 rebounds in their win over UMass-Boston and followed that up with 14 points and 6 rebounds against Duquense.

- Ross Ryan (Pickerington North/USC-Upstate)- Ryan saw solid minutes in all of the Spartan games this week. He scored in the games against Portland and Texas State, both tough losses.

- Matt Moyer (Gahanna/Vanderbilt)- Moyer seems to still be acclimating to the Vanderbilt style right now. He had 5 points against Liberty and then struggled against Kent State, scoring only 2 points. His minutes should increase though with Darius Garland going down with an injury.

- Onno Steger (Upper Arlington/Western Carolina)- Steger had another solid week for the Catamounts. He scored 10 points twice this week, once against Jacksonville and once against Southern Miss. He’s currently averaging 8.1 PPG and 3.1 RPG.

- Khalil Iverson (Delaware Hayes/Wisconsin)- Wisconsin showed how dangerous they could be this year in the Bahamas, and Iverson looked solid in all 3 games. He only average 6 PPG, but he did the little things once again. He had 12 rebounds against Stanford, 8 against Oklahoma and 6 against Virginia. They’ll need him to step up again as they play NC State and Iowa.

- Jelani Simmons (Beechcroft/Youngstown State)- The Penguins only had 1 game this week, and Simmons looked fantastic once again. He scored 13 points and 3 rebounds and 3 assists in their win. His minutes should continue to increase.
