PICKERINGTON, Ohio -- Senior big man Isaiah Speelman scored 25 points for Hilliard Bradley (8-1) as they took down Northland (5-4) in the The Challenge at Pickerington North, 60-40.

Bradley imposed their will on the Vikings in the first half by holding them to just 14 points. Speelman had 17 points alone for the Jaguars in the first two periods.

The jags ended the first half leading 35-14. Sophomore guard Matt Allocco hit two threes in the first half and went into the break with 10 points.

Northland picked up the scoring in the second half with 26 points led by senior guard Jejuan Weatherspoon, who scored nine of his 11 points in the final two periods.

The Vikings however were not able to take a big chunk out of the Bradley lead. The good ball handling of the Jaguars prevented Northland from getting in transition and making a big run.

Speelman capped his great first half with eight second half points to bring his total to 25 along  with eight rebounds. Allocco added 14 points while sophomore wing Chris Mayfield added six points, nine rebounds and four assists.

Both teams are back in action on Tuesday when the Jaguars head to rival Hilliard Darby. Northland plays host to East, who is tied atop the City League North with Beechcroft.
