Central Ohio saw some major scoring performances on Thursday

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- While there were roughly a dozen games in Central Ohio on Thursday, that didn't stop some of the area's top small school players from putting up big-time performances. Let's take a look at three major scoring performances from the night prior.

Caleb Collins drops 39, ties scoring lead in the area

Fairfield Christian senior guard Caleb Collins has been no stranger to big-time scoring games this season. Coming into Thursday's performance vs. Millersport, Collins was tied for fourth in the area in scoring at 24.5 points per game, already dropping 36 and 42 points in separate games.

Collins put himself in a tie for first in scoring in the area, going for 39 points against Millersport to increase his average to 27.1 points per game. An unsigned guard who can flat out shoot the basketball, Collins has been a model of consistency this season.

Ryan Wolfe's 28 points lead Teays Valley over Fairfield Union in OT

For the past two seasons, Fairfield Union has been the bully in the Mid-State League. Winning back-to-back Buckeye division titles, the Falcons have dominated a high quality league. Teays Valley junior Ryan Wolfe put a momentary stop to that, going for 28 points as the Vikings took down Fairfield Union in overtime, 59-57.

A tough guard on the wing who broke out as a sophomore, Wolfe's performance was a season-high for him and should usher in great momentum going forward for himself and Teays Valley. At 6-2, Teays Valley could be a sneaky team come tournament time in Division I. When shots are falling for the Vikings and Wolfe is scoring in bunches, Teays Valley is at their best.

Kaveon Ross dominates with 29 and 10 for Hamilton Township

In a league matchup against Amanda-Clearcreek, Hamilton Township sophomore forward Kaveon Ross had what could be the breakout game for him. Going for 29 points and 10 rebounds, Ross dominated on both ends of the floor in a win for the Rangers.

An athletic 6-foot-5 forward who plays a physical brand of basketball, Ross has emerged this season as a sophomore for a Hamilton Township team that is improving each game. At 5-5, Hamilton Township is off to its best start in recent memory, as a young group of underclassmen have been a major reason for the improvement.

While Ross was the player of the game in Thursday's win, fellow sophomore Marquis Moore also had a big performance, adding 21 points in a 72-59 win for Hamilton Township.

In a Mid-State League Buckeye division where the Rangers can compete with everyone, look for Hamilton Township to keep on winning behind studs Ross and Moore.
