A look at our predictions for Friday's top games

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- It's another loaded night of hoops in Central Ohio. With several rivalries and important league games on tap, let's take a look at our predictions for Friday's top matchups.

Top Games

#2 (D4) Harvest Prep (10-2) vs. #1 (D4) Grove City Christian (14-1)

An all-out war is on tap in the Mid-State League tonight at Grove City Christian. The top two teams in Division IV will do battle in a game that will decide first place in the conference. In the first matchup of the season, GCC trailed by as much as 19 points in the first half before making an inspired charge over the next two quarters. Winning a tight one in regulation, the Eagles will get a hungry Harvest Prep team looking for revenge. This game could also decide the top seed in the district tournament in a few weeks.

#10 Pickerington North (12-5) vs. #1 Pickerington Central (13-2)

The Battle of Pickerington is back and better than ever. After suffering the upset of the year at No. 22 New Albany earlier in the year, Pickerington Central is looking to bounce back strong on Friday. Facing them is a motivated Pickerington North team looking to force a tie in the OCC-Ohio. This is the most important game for the Panthers since Jason Bates took the job three years ago, as a conference championship is for the taking. For Pickerington Central, the Tigers must show that Tuesday's upset loss was a fluke and not the sign of a major chink in armor that seemed unbreakable just four days ago.

#6 Reynoldsburg (13-3) vs. #14 Gahanna (9-6)

The OCC-Ohio is host to two big league games tonight, as No. 6 Reynoldsburg is looking to continue a highly successful season on the road at No. 14 Gahanna. For the Raiders, a win would mean a sweep over Gahanna this season, as the Lions have dealt with inexperience this season as this group continues to mature. For Gahanna, the Lions are looking to avoid falling to 1-5 in conference play on Friday. In a game that could go either way, we see Reynoldsburg's experience and depth proving to be the difference late.
