COLUMBUS, Ohio -- After a mega campaign on social media, Africentric junior guard Tre Baumgardner is the GNC: Beat Average Player of the Week for Jan. 9-15.
Baumgardner received 57 percent of nearly 4,000 votes, as the Nubian point guard takes home the honors after putting up a career-high 30 points in a tough league win over Walnut Ridge on Jan. 13.
Baumgardner has enjoyed a bit of a breakout season, averaging 17.3 points per game. Baumgardner will be in action against former POTW winner Treohn Watkins and South in a highly anticipated league matchup on Wednesday.
