A look at the top scorers from Friday's action

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- After a loaded night of hoops in Central Ohio, several scorers shined in decisive games. While there were no 30-point games on Friday, there were still some big-time scoring outputs from the Columbus area's best.

1. Danny Corbett (Sr. PG, Briggs)

Performance: 28 points vs. Africentric

Corbett had his best game of the season in a big win for Briggs at home against Africentric. Not only did Corbett lead all scorers with 28 points, but the do-it-all senior held the Nubians backcourt trio of Tre Baumgardner and Lanton Martin to 13 points combined, which is more than 20 points under their collective average. Putting up big numbers and scoring more than 20 points per game, Corbett is dragging Briggs by himself in the City League.

2. Ridge Young (Sr. SG, Logan Elm)

Performance: 28 points vs. Liberty Union

The area's second-leading scorer was at it again on Friday, pouring in 28 points in Logan Elm's win over Liberty Union. Young has been a tantalizing scorer in his storied career at Logan Elm, saving the best for last as a senior. A big-time shooter who is great at drawing fouls and converting at the line, Young has put on a scoring clinic especially in the last two seasons.

3. Antwon Hampton (Jr. SG, Central Crossing)

Performance: 26 points vs. Westland

Hampton poured in a season-high 26 points in Central Crossing's rivalry win over Westland at home. The win for Central Crossing pushes the Comets to 7-7 on the season, as Hampton has played a major part in the turnaround. Averaging 14.6 points per game, look for Hampton to increase that average in the second half of the season.

4. Zion Parham (Sr. G, Eastmoor)

Performance: 25 points vs. West

Parham scored a career-high 25 points in leading Eastmoor to a blowout win over West. With the win, Eastmoor remains just one game behind South in City League South play, as the Warriors will be looking for revenge against the Bulldogs later in the year. Parham can greatly help that process by continuing to score like he did on Friday.

5. Dibaji Walker (Sr. SF, Independence)

Performance: 24 points vs. Marion-Franklin

Leading Independence to its fourth win in the last five games, Walker was dominant in a 24-point performance against Marion-Franklin. Helping the Sixers win its third-straight league game, Walker pulled Independence into a third place tie in the City League South. An intriguing 6-foot-6 talent on the wing, Walker is garnering heavy Division I and II interest this season, as the son of former NBA Lottery pick Samaki Walker is developing at a great rate and helping Independence win games in the process.

6. Ben Roderick (So. SF, Olentangy Liberty)

Performance: 24 points vs. Olentangy

Going for 24 points to lead Olentangy Liberty over rival Olentangy, Roderick continued a breakout sophomore season on Friday. A 6-foot-5 wing with a natural shooting stroke, Roderick is one of the area's hidden gems in the 2019 class, but that shouldn't last for much longer. Averaging 17.4 points per game, Roderick has grown up quickly and is a major reason why Liberty is off to a 10-4 start on the season.

7. Treohn Watkins (So. PG, South)

Performance: 22 points vs. Walnut Ridge

Leading South to a dominating 73-39 win over Walnut Ridge at home, Watkins was nearly unguardable once again, going for 22 points. Averaging a team-high 15.6 points per game, Watkins has been the key cog for a South team that is out to a historic 14-0 start. Never in the school's 117-year history had the Bulldogs reeled off 14-straight wins to start a season - until this season. Watkins has been a major factor in that success, which is really impressive considering he is just a sophomore.

8. Jejuan Weatherspoon (Jr. SG, Northland)

Performance: 22 points vs. Beechcroft

Northland all but wrapped up another City League North title in a dominating 82-64 win over Beechcroft on the road Friday. Once again leading the charge against the Cougars was Weatherspoon, whose 22 points were a game-high. Knocking down four-straight threes in the second half, Weatherspoon helped Northland build a lead and the Vikings would cruise from there. Weatherspoon scored 49 points in total in two wins over Beechcroft this season, as the athletic 6-foot-3 junior wing continues to improve.

9. Dane Goodwin (Jr. SG, Upper Arlington)

Performance: 22 points vs. Dublin Coffman

Despite suffering an overtime loss at home to Coffman, Upper Arlington and Goodwin still looked sharp on Friday. Goodwin led all scorers with 22 points on the night, as the Ohio State commit leads all Central Ohio scorers with 27.2 points per game. Showing the full arsenal of his scoring abilities this season, Goodwin has been arguably the best overall player in the area.
