Dane Goodwin scored a weekend-high 34 points on Sunday

Jerome Hunter

KETTERING, Ohio -- With Sunday offering the highest level of basketball of the weekend at Flyin' to the Hoop, Central Ohio showed up and showed out in front of a sold out crowd at Trent Arena. Let's take a look at the top Central Ohio performers from Sunday.

Game 1: Gahanna 86, Dayton Thurgood Marshall 42

Game 2: Akron St. VIncent-St. Mary 64, Pickerington North 56

Game 3: Upper Arlington 62, Garfield Heights 34

Dane Goodwin (6'5 SG / Upper Arlington / 2018): Setting the weekend high mark for scoring, Goodwin was absolutely brilliant in a dominating win for Upper Arlington. Going for 34 points and 10 rebounds, Goodwin could not be stopped offensively, knocking down shots from every level and scoring at a high rate off the bounce. Goodwin plays with a level of toughness and tenacity that is uncommon for most high school prospects, which makes him a terrifying matchup for defenses when his jump shot is falling - which happens more often than not. Initially known for his deadly outside shooting, Goodwin has added so much more to his game, which has turned him into arguably the most productive player in the state.

Jerome Hunter (6'7 SF / Pickerington North / 2018): In a losing effort for Pickerington North, Hunter was outstanding all game long, finishing with 29 points and 18 rebounds. Working hard for his points on Sunday, Hunter dealt with tight pressure from St. Vincent-St. Mary, scoring off the bounce and especially on the offensive glass, as Hunter is terrific on his second jump. Hunter's ability to put the ball on the floor and finish off the bounce is elite, as he has continued to evolve as a high-major plus type prospect. Hunter's sophomore season was a bit of a warm up for Hunter, who has officially evolved into a cant-miss wing forward prospect with great upside as a junior.

Jordan Mitchell (6'7 SF / Gahanna / 2019): Opening up the day in a dominating win over Dayton Thurgood Marshall, Mitchell helped set the tone for Gahanna in a 44-point win. Finishing with 18 points, seven rebounds and two assists, Mitchell was terrific around the basket, dominating a Thurgood team with inferior size. Taking advantage of several Thurgood turnovers in transition, Mitchell could not be stopped around the rim, using his great length and athletic ability to score early and often. Putting up his best offensive performance of the season, Mitchell will have to continue to score at a high level in order for a young Gahanna team to compete among the OCC-Ohio's best.

Max Martz (6'6 SF / Upper Arlington / 2019): While Goodwin was the star of the night for Upper Arlington, Martz wasn't too far behind. Showing his sweet shooting stroke, Martz was terrific from behind-the-arc, knocking down four threes. A lengthy wing forward who can mix it up inside and out, Martz has really come into his own as a sophomore, as he is the type of complementary scorer for Upper Arlington that pushes the Golden Bears to a new level.
