Dane Goodwin dropped 25 points in a game that was never really close

BETHEL PARK, Penn. -- In a game that was never really close, Upper Arlington cruised past Munhall Steel Valley (PA) behind Dane Goodwin's 25 points, winning 70-28. Despite three fouls in the first quarter, two of which were questionable, Goodwin continued a high-scoring season, leading all scorers while leading UA to another blowout win.

Jumping out to a 21-9 lead after the first quarter, Upper Arlington would continue to roll in the middle quarters, outscoring Steel Valley 29-12. The fourth quarter would be much of the same, as Upper Arlington cruised to a 42-point win.

Goodwin added 12 rebounds, four assists and five steals to his stat line, notching his third double-double in the last three weeks. Outside of Goodwin, senior point guard Jordan Bailey finished with 19 points, while senior wing Justin Whitcomb added eight points.

Senior point guard Andy Hummer played a solid game, finishing with three points, seven assists and three steals. Forcing Steel Valley to speed up to a pace it couldn't control, Upper Arlington refused to give talented junior SV center Ja'Mier Fletcher solid looks to remain unbeaten.

With the win, Upper Arlington moves on to play tournament host Bethel Park on Thursday.
