COLUMBUS, Ohio -- With OCC play kicking off on Friday, there was plenty of action taking place across Central Ohio. Let's take a look at the top scorers from a loaded night of action.
Performance: 35 points vs. Central Crossing
Goodwin went absolutely nuts in a career-high 35-point performance against Central Crossing, leading Upper Arlington to an 84-54 win. Performance: 32 points vs. Marysville
The senior guard Harris scored a career-high 32 points in leading Westland to an 89-83 overtime win over Marysville. Harris' big performance was enough for Westland to sneak past a tough Marysville team and into 1-0 in OCC-Central play. Look for a big season out of Harris this winter.
Performance: 31 points vs. Grove City
Arter scored 31 of Lancaster's 55 points on Friday, nearly doing enough to lead the Gales past Grove City in a four-point loss. Arter was a breakout player last season for Lancaster and is expected to continue to put up big numbers. This will not be Arter's final 30-point game for Lancaster this season.
Performance: 30 points vs. Franklin Heights
Jacobs went absolutely nuts from behind-the-arc in a 68-40 Groveport win over Franklin Heights. Knocking down 10 three-point field goals against the Falcons, Jacobs made 6-of-7 from three in the second half alone, scorching the nets to lead the Cruisers to a blowout win. Scoring a career-high 30 points, Jacobs is averaging 16 points per game through three contests.
Performance: 29 points vs. Columbus Academy
Leading Whitehall to a 69-63 overtime victory over Columbus Academy, Blackshear scored a career-high 29 points to push the Rams into a big win to open MSL play. An athletic wing forward with a lot of upside, Blackshear has a chance to emerge as one of the area's top breakout players this winter, as Friday was a great start to that process.
Performance: 28 points vs. New Albany
Duling continued a hot start to the season for himself and Newark, leading the Wildcats with 28 points in a 68-44 drubbing of New Albany. The post dominant Woodside had a major performance on the road to lead Fairfield Union over Logan Elm to start MSL play.
