Dane Goodwin led all scorers with 35 points on Friday

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- With OCC play kicking off on Friday, there was plenty of action taking place across Central Ohio. Let's take a look at the top scorers from a loaded night of action.

1. Dane Goodwin (Jr. SG, Upper Arlington)

Performance: 35 points vs. Central Crossing

Goodwin went absolutely nuts in a career-high 35-point performance against Central Crossing, leading Upper Arlington to an 84-54 win. Goodwin scored 23 points in the second half, leading the Golden Bears to a 30-point win. Through two games, Goodwin is averaging 29 points per game, which is second most in the area.

2. Ben Harris (Sr. G, Westland)

Performance: 32 points vs. Marysville

The senior guard Harris scored a career-high 32 points in leading Westland to an 89-83 overtime win over Marysville. Harris' big performance was enough for Westland to sneak past a tough Marysville team and into 1-0 in OCC-Central play. Look for a big season out of Harris this winter.

3. Jacob Arter (Sr. G, Lancaster)

Performance: 31 points vs. Grove City

Arter scored 31 of Lancaster's 55 points on Friday, nearly doing enough to lead the Gales past Grove City in a four-point loss. Arter was a breakout player last season for Lancaster and is expected to continue to put up big numbers. This will not be Arter's final 30-point game for Lancaster this season.

4. Curtis Jacobs (Jr. SG, Groveport Madison)

Performance: 30 points vs. Franklin Heights

Jacobs went absolutely nuts from behind-the-arc in a 68-40 Groveport win over Franklin Heights. Knocking down 10 three-point field goals against the Falcons, Jacobs made 6-of-7 from three in the second half alone, scorching the nets to lead the Cruisers to a blowout win. Scoring a career-high 30 points, Jacobs is averaging 16 points per game through three contests.

5. Antoine Blackshear (Sr. SF, Whitehall)

Performance: 29 points vs. Columbus Academy

Leading Whitehall to a 69-63 overtime victory over Columbus Academy, Blackshear scored a career-high 29 points to push the Rams into a big win to open MSL play. An athletic wing forward with a lot of upside, Blackshear has a chance to emerge as one of the area's top breakout players this winter, as Friday was a great start to that process.

6. BJ Duling (Sr. SF, Newark)

Performance: 28 points vs. New Albany

Duling continued a hot start to the season for himself and Newark, leading the Wildcats with 28 points in a 68-44 drubbing of New Albany. A near impossible matchup on the wing, Duling has been as good as advertised so far this season, leading Newark to a 3-0 record by scoring a team-best 21 points per game.

7. Colin Woodside (Jr. PF, Fairfield Union)

Performance: 27 points vs. Logan Elm

The post dominant Woodside had a major performance on the road to lead Fairfield Union over Logan Elm to start MSL play. Scoring 27 points, Woodside helped Fairfield Union pick up a tough 53-45 win away from home. Woodside is averaging 23 points per game in leading Fairfield Union to road wins at Watterson and Logan Elm.

8. Kaleb Wesson (Sr. C, Westerville South)

Performance: 26 points vs. Olentangy

Wesson had his second 26+ point outing of the week, leading Westerville South to another win. After scoring 27 points vs. Gahanna on Monday, Wesson followed that up with 26 points in a 60-52 win over Olentangy on Friday. Through three games, Wesson is leading the Wildcats with 23 points per game.
