A look at the top performers from the Hidden Gems Fall Showcase

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The Hidden Gems Showcase returned on Saturday and offered up a wide range of talent at Thomas Worthington High School. Let's take a look at the top performers that we evaluated on the day.

Christian Carter (6'2 SG / Thomas Worthington / 2017): High-motor and high-energy guard that makes winning plays. Carter is athletic on the wing, can hit shots and get to the rim and finish. Big season is on the horizon for Carter.

Josh Daman (6'7 PF / Marysville / 2017): Long and high-academic stretch four who can play. Daman is a knockdown shooter from the perimeter, while having the size and physicality to bang for points underneath.

Malik Sammons (6'3 SF / Westerville North / 2017): High-wire athletic act who has one Division II offer from Glenville State. Sammons is on the verge of a breakout season, as he possesses several athletic traits, that mixed with his improving skill set make him a very intriguing prospect on the wing.

Mark Mayle (6'9 PF / Malvern / 2018): One of the fastest rising bigs in 2018, Mayle plays with one of the best motors of any player in the state. We are big fans of Mayle, as he is fearless, a reliable shooter from 17 feet and in, and attacks the glass as hard as anyone.

Solomon Pierre-Louis (6'4 SG / Wellington / 2018): Knockdown perimeter shooter who is coming into his own. Pierre-Louis can really play on the wing, as he possesses IQ, length, shooting ability and improving athleticism.

Alontay Gould (6'1 PG / Toledo Rogers / 2017): High energy scorer who does a lot off the bounce. Gould is one of Toledo's top seniors, as he can really shoot off the dribble and has the quickness to attack the basket and finish.

Kaleb Wesson (6'10 C / Westerville South / 2017): Dominant. Best big in Ohio in 2017. Everything that can be said about Wesson has been said on this site.

Dibaji Walker (6'6 SF / Independence / 2017): High-upside wing forward who is still coming into his own. Walker has great length, above average athleticism and an improving skill set that is intriguing. Could be a low D1 guy after a year of prep.

Nick Muszynski (6'11 C / St. Charles / 2017): Muszynski blocks EVERYTHING. Hard to score around basket with the outstretched arms of Muszynski. Also a talented scorer who can get buckets from nearly every level, Muszynski is a late-blooming center committed to Belmont.

Dominiq Penn (5'10 PG / Dublin Coffman / 2020): Arguably the best freshman point guard we've seen in the last few years, Penn is the total package in the back court. He can shoot, he can drive, he can dish, he can dribble, he can read the defense and he can defend. Penn is really just a few inches and added strength away from being a total nightmare at the point guard spot.

Makhale Massey (6'1 SF / Columbus / 2021): Lengthy, intriguing wing forward who has a lot of tools. Massey's upside is tremendous, as he can do a little bit of everything offensively, and has takeover ability around the basket. Look for Massey to be the next great prospect in the City League.

Andre Irvin Jr (5'4 PG / Olentangy / 2021): Super skilled, polished and confident, Irvin Jr is a terrific ball handler who can score. With a stellar step-up jump shot, Irvin Jr has all the tools to be a productive point guard at the high school level. All he has to do now is grow and he will be a problem.

Antonio Watson (5'8 PG / New Albany / 2018): Improving ball handler who plays with a lot of confidence and belief. Watson plays hard on both ends of the floor, operates as a flashy ball handler and is becoming a knockdown perimeter shooter. Look for a strong junior season out of him.
