COLUMBUS, Ohio -- It began in 2008. It has hosted dozens of Division I basketball talent. It has even hosted future NBA players. And it is back and better than ever.
Coach Vic's Weekly Showcase presented by 270 Hoops returns to Reynoldsburg (Livingston) High School on Sunday at 12 p.m. With 45 players committed to Sunday's event, the first of a nine-week series running every weekend on the same day and time is sure to be a good one in 2016.
Let's take a look at what this Sunday will have to offer for the staple of fall basketball in Columbus.

Team 1 features all types of length and athleticism, starting off with Dublin Coffman freshman point guard Dominiq Penn, who is the son of former Ohio State great Scoonie Penn. Kinsey will be one of the day's most athletic wings at the off guard position. Tariq Brown provides for athleticism on the wing, while Tavon Brown and Francis in the front court will be an interesting combination.

D'Amonte Jones | 6'7 | PF | Linden-McKinley | 2019 | 26 |
Kaleb Wesson | 6'10 | C | Westerville South | 2017 | 45 |
Team 2 is led by the Central Crossing/Ohio Hoopsters duo of Hampton and Lowe, who are the first pair of Comets to ever play in the event. Ward brings length and playmaking ability on the wing, while Jones and Wesson underneath will be a force to be reckoned with. The Ohio State commit Wesson will be the "man" of this young squad of developing prospects.
Name | Height | Position | School | Year | Jersey |
Anthony Mills | 6'2 | PG | Westerville South | 2017 | 7 |
Dibaji Walker | 6'6 | SF | Independence | 2017 | 50 |

Julius Brown | 5'10 | SG | Westerville North | 2018 | 28 |
Nick Muszynski | 6'10 | C | St. Charles | 2017 | 32 |
Team 3 is a senior laden unit that is our early pick to be Sunday's best. Mills and Walker are an interesting combination, as the Westerville South floor general is coming off a strong summer. Walker is one of the area's most intriguing prospects, as he is the son of NBA veteran Samaki Walker, and is only getting better by the day. Joseph, Duling and Muszynski are a talented 3-5, providing length, toughness, and high basketball IQ.
Name | Height | Position | School | Year | Jersey |
Gavin Brown | 6'3 | PG | Bloom-Carroll | 2017 | 8 |
Christian Carter | 6'2 | SG | Thomas Worthington | 2017 | 10 |

Matt Smith | 6'7 | PF | Bloom-Carroll | 2017 | 37 |
Caden Sanchez | 6'8 | C | DeSales | 2017 | 44 |
Team 4 is another talented squad full of seniors, as it features two of the best duos in Division II basketball in Central Ohio. Brown and Smith are a talented guard-big combo, while Hippler and Sanchez pose for a shot-blocking force underneath. Carter appears to be the straw that will stir the drink on the wing (phrase credited to Kurt Stubbs).
Name | Height | Position | School | Year | Jersey |
Tre Baumgardner | 6'0 | PG | Africentric | 2018 | 13 |
Justin Curtis | 6'3 | SG | East | 2018 | 21 |

Devon Scott | 6'9 | PF | Tiffin Univ. | Sr. | 1 |
Quinton Jones | 6'8 | C | Northland | 2017 | 39 |
Team 5 is a City-League based squad with the VCC Ohio Warriors backcourt duo of Baumgardner and Curtis. Yoakum is as good as they come on the perimeter, while the veteran Scott and Jones, both Northland products, will be a force underneath.
Name | Height | Position | School | Year | Jersey |
David Dennis | 6'2 | PG | West Liberty Univ. | So. | 3 |
Jaidon Lipscomb | 5'11 | PG | Pickerington Central | 2019 | 19 |
Jeremiah Hunter | 6'5 | SF | Edison CC | Fr. | 27 |

Dustin Harder Peyton Hill |
6'8 6'3 |
C SF |
Wellington Chillicothe Unioto |
2017 2018 |
20 24 |
Team 6 is stockpiled of veterans, as Dennis and Hunter enter the event from the college ranks. Dennis was the nation's best freshman point guard in Division II last year, as he and Baker, who has offers from Bethune-Cookman and Wright State, should pose for a stellar backcourt. Elmore and Harder man the paint underneath, as Harder comes in as one of the area's most sought after bigs at the Division II level.
Name | Height | Position | School | Year | Jersey |
Jaedyn Carter | 6'0 | PG | Thomas Worthington | 2018 | 9 |
Dametrius Walker | 6'3 | PG | Fort Scott CC (KS) | So. | 4 |
Lamine Komara | 6'5 | SF | Whetstone | 2018 | 18 |
Mark Mayle | 6'9 | PF | Malvern | 2018 | 30 |
Khiry Shelton | 6'7 | C | Hargrave Military Academy | 2017 | 36 |
Team 7 is led by two guards in Carter and Walker who play at a frantic pace. Carter is one of the area's toughest guards, while Walker is a rising junior college prospect receiving attention from several mid-major Division I programs. Komara is the first Whetstone player to play in the event and is paired with a talented front court that includes Northland's all-time leading scorer and Harvard freshman Towns, and Shelton, who is looking to increase his stock this season at Hargrave Military Academy.
Name | Height | Position | School | Year | Jersey |
Jejuan Rogers | 6'0 | PG | Pickerington Central | 2019 | |
Logan Swackhammer | 6'2 | PG | Chillicothe Unioto | 2018 | 23 |
Dondre Palmer | 6'4 | SF | Pickerington North | 2018 | 25 |
Hasan Varence | 6'8 | PF | Ohio Dominican Univ. | Fr. | 46 |
Jake Montgomery | 6'8 | C | Thomas Worthington | 2017 | 22 |
Team 8 has a chance to be one of the day's best, as Palmer and Swackhammer form a backcourt that will be as talented as any. Palker earned his first Division I offer from Vermont in July after helping lead All-Ohio Red to Peach Jam and Super Showcase titles. Palmer is a high-energy, high-effort player that makes things happen, while Varence, a redshirt freshman at Ohio Dominican and Montgomery pose for a front court that should be able to stretch the floor and knock down shots.
