Division I Seeding Guide: Final Edition

A look at the final draft of our seeding guide for Division I in Central Ohio

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The yearly tradition is back. Here is the first draft of our Division I seeding guide. We will not have a seeding guide for Divisions II, III and IV. We recommend that Bishop Ready, Africentric and Northside Christian be the top seeds for those divisions, however.

Without further adieu, let's get into our seeding guide and where we recommend teams to be seeded. We have a great deal of data to go along with our seeds. We hope this will be a major help for high school coaches when they make their seeds at the end of the week.

SOR = Strength of Record Points

AWV = Average Win Value (based on strength of record points)

For example: A 6-point win during the regular season is equivalent to a home win against a team seeded in the 16-20 range, or a road win against a team seeded in the 21-25 range. The higher the value, the higher quality wins a team has on average.

SOS = Strength of Schedule Rank (out of 49 teams)

D1 Wins = IN-DISTRICT wins against teams in this tournament

D1 Losses = IN-DISTRICT losses against teams in this tournament

Head to head is greatly valued in our formula. However, we do honor teams that win more than they lose. We try to account for strength of schedule and strength of record to provide the most accurate guide possible.
