Jesse Burris and Te’Mar Lewis looked impressive on Friday night

DELAWARE, Ohio -- The Pacers easily dispatched Worthington Kilbourne at home on Friday, as they defeated the Wolves 68-36 for an OCC Capital win.

Hayes received an excellent balanced effort, with seven players scoring six or more points. In our prospect scouting report, we'll highlight the standout play of junior Jesse Burris along with a few honorable mentions.

While the Wolves struggled and could have used the efforts from junior Aidan Gallogly, who was sidelined with an arm injury, they did get an impressive performance from junior Te’Mar Lewis.

Let's take a further look at the scouting report:

Jesse Burris (Delaware Hayes / 6'5 Wing / 2024) Just about everything looked to come easy for Burris, who paced the Pacers with team highs in points (18), rebounds (9) and assists (6). Burris was in total control, almost always made the right play and finished at a high percentage. When the 6'5 wing shoots, he does a good job of elevating and adjusting mid-air, if necessary. He only took one three-point attempt, but had a perfect splash a good foot beyond the arc. He's unselfish and started the game with three straight assists on quick feeds to an open teammate. Burris has good instincts on both ends, as he intercepted several passes and positioned himself well for offensive put-backs. As a junior, he's already eclipsed 1,000 career points and is one of the more consistent players in the area. Already with offers from Akron, Ohio and Miami (OH), Burris is a solid prospect for Division I mid-majors.

Te’Mar Lewis (Worthington Kilbourne / 6'0 PG / 2024) It wasn't a pretty night for the Wolves as a team, but I came away really impressed by the play-making of the Wolves junior guard. Son of Kilbourne head coach and former Ohio State standout Ron Lewis, Te'Mar scored nearly half of his team's points and finished with 17 total. He did so in a variety ways, as he looked really comfortable with his shot as he connected on a trio of threes. Lewis also showed off a good set of handles that allowed him to get past his defender and score off difficult finishes. Although he's not particularly big, Lewis had good speed. I look forward to catch future games of Lewis and would hope to see this type of play-making and display of talent done at a consistent level. If Lewis can accomplish that, he has the potential to be a a sneaky really good player to closely follow over the next year.

Honorable Mentions: The Pacers played an excellent team game, as they shot particularly well (11 made threes) and were unselfish (18 total assists). Junior Jake Lowman had the most long range success, as he was red hot with his four made threes. Also the quarterback for the Pacers, his passing skills translated well on the hardwood as he added three assists.

Senior Anthony Wilson stood out with his distribution of five assists. I also look forward to keep an eye on a couple Pacers underclassmen. Sophomore Carter Piatt-Brown is an athletic 6'3 guard who had nine points and five rebounds. Freshman Chase Griggs finished with eight points and two assists and showed a level of comfortability not typically seen from players his age.
