COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Bishop Ready is the only team in Division II without at least four losses, as this division has not been very top heavy, and does not feature many state contenders. After a busy weekend of basketball that included many of these top teams, let's take a look at the latest power rankings in Division II.

1. Bishop Ready (13-0)
Last Week: No. 1 | 95 strength of record points | vs. #8 Bloom-Carroll (7)

The Silver Knights have been the best team in terms of performance and consistency in the entire area, regardless of division. Ready extended its CCL lead to two games with a home dismantling of Bishop Hartley last Friday, and hung on without senior point guard Luke Ruth in a fourth quarter blitzkrieg of upstart Northridge on Sunday. Ready has just one game this week, as they host Bloom-Carroll on Thursday. When it comes to the CCL, Ready is in great shape, as the two teams that have given them the most trouble in St. Charles and Bishop Watterson, will have to beat the Silver Knights on their home floor in February. 

2. Bishop Watterson (8-5)
Last Week: No. 2 | 64 strength of record points | vs. St. Charles (9), vs. #10 Jonathan Alder (7)

Watterson is 8-1 in its last nine games, with the only loss coming to top-ranked Ready. The Eagles picked up two quality wins over the weekend against DeSales and McNicholas. A very challenging weekend slate is on tap, as the Eagles will host Chase Walker and St. Charles on Friday in a clash of the titans with Watterson big Cole Rhett.

3. River Valley (9-4)
Last Week: No. 8 | 46 strength of record points | vs. Clear Fork (4), @ Ontario (6)

River Valley was very impressive in a statement 18-point win over Jonathan Alder on Sunday. The Vikings have a great core of starters and are powered offensively by the duo of Carson Myers and Carson Smith, who combined for 38 against Alder. This team is rolling in the MOAC and will have two league games this week. 

4. Bishop Hartley (9-4)
Last Week: No. 3 | 61 strength of record points | L vs. Fairfield Union, @ DeSales (9)

After starting the season 7-0, the Hawks have dropped four of their last six and will not have an easy road here on out. On Monday, they lost at the buzzer against Fairfield Union, one of the tougher teams in the Southeast District. Hartley will hit the road to take on DeSales in a challenging CCL matchup this Friday. Young teams have to show the ability to overcome adversity, so we are interested to see if this Hawks squad can overcome the bumps and bruises of the season.

5. Bexley (7-5)
Last Week: No. 4 | 26 strength of record points | vs. #3 (D3) Columbus Academy (8), @ Wellington (1)

Bexley has hung around the top five all year, and not because they're a no-brainer top five team, but because Division II is really down with South and DeSales moving up to D1, and Heath dropping to D3. The Lions can prove they belong among the elite when they take on Columbus Academy this week.

6. Granville (8-6)
Last Week: No. 7 | 43 strength of record points | vs. Lakewood (2)

Granville is one of the hotter teams in Division II, as this Blue Aces team has survived a rough start to the year and are unbeaten in the month of January. Granville will be highly favored to pick up its fifth win in a row this week against Lakewood. 

7. Johnstown (8-6)
Last Week: No. 6 | 41 strength of record points | W vs. North Union (6), @ Lakewood (1)

Johnstown defeated North Union at Ohio Dominican on Monday, the same floor they beat the Wildcats for a district title on in 2020. The Johnnies have been solid for most of the year and will have a winnable game at Lakewood to end the week.

8. Bloom-Carroll (7-4)
Last Week: No. 9 | 30 strength of record points | @ Liberty Union (6), @ #1 Bishop Ready (11), vs. Teays Valley (7)

Bloom-Carroll had a late start to the season due to its football team making the state championship game. The back half of their schedule is loaded and this week is as important as any. Without a ton of signature wins under its belt, a 2-1 week this week would be big for the Bulldogs. The chances are very slim, but an upset win at Bishop Ready could really improve their postseason resume.

9. Buckeye Valley (7-7)
Last Week: No. 10 | 27 strength of record points | @ #2 (D3) Worthington Christian (9)

Buckeye Valley has hung around the end of the top 10 for a lot of this year. The Barons have taken a few steps back from last year's successful squad, but they can prove they belong back with the elite if they can defeat Worthington Christian on the road. 

10. Jonathan Alder (6-7)
Last Week:  No. 5 | 35 strength of record points | @ Northwestern (4), @ Kenton Ridge (5), @ #2 Bishop Watterson (9)

Alder, much like Bexley, was ranked No. 5 last week, not due to their excellence, but more so due to Division II being pretty mediocre across the board. The Pioneers suffered two losses over the weekend, dropping games against Shawnee and River Valley. A three road trip is on deck this week, with two CBC contests far away from home and a challenging game at Bishop Watterson. Alder can rise again in the rankings if they're to upset Watterson.
