A look at the latest power rankings in Division III

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- We are entering the second half of the regular season, as the district tournament seeding picture will begin to make itself clear over the next few weeks. Let's take a look at our latest power rankings in Division III.

1. Africentric (8-3)
Last Week: No. 1 | 57 strength of record points | @ #8 (D1) South (11), vs. Independence (6), vs. Cuyahoga Christian (8)

The Nubians fell to Hilliard Bradley in a close game on Saturday, but have big opportunity to pick up some momentum this week. Tuesday will be the toughest test of the City League season for Africentric, as they take on South, who is also unbeaten in the league. Saturday's game against Cuyahoga Christian will pit two of Ohio's best players head to head in Dailyn Swain and Darryn Peterson.

2. Worthington Christian (10-2)
Last Week: No. 3 | 61 strength of record points | W @ #1 (D4) Patriot Prep (5), vs. #4 (D2) Bexley (8), vs. Indian Lake (8)

It has been a month and a week since Worthington Christian last lost a game. The Warriors have won 8-straight games and are one of the hottest teams in the area following road wins over top-ranked Columbus Academy and Patriot Prep. Worthington Christian will be greatly tested this week with two more difficult matchups against top Division II competition.

3. Northridge (8-1)
Last Week: No. 4 | 43 strength of record points | vs. Lakewood (2), vs. #6 Utica (7), vs. #2 (D2) Bishop Ready (10)

Northridge has been the story of the young season. The Vikings are off to their best start in years and will be put to the test in a major way this week. If they can come away with two wins this week, that will be a great sign going forward for this team and their postseason hopes.

4. Columbus Academy (10-1)
Last Week: No. 2 | 63 strength of record points | vs. Whitehall (3)

Columbus Academy was the last remaining unbeaten team, as they fell in overtime to red hot Worthington Christian on Saturday. This squad is still rolling, however, and will be able to get back on track in the MSL-Ohio with a home game against reeling Whitehall this week.

5. Harvest Prep (7-5)
Last Week: No. 6 | 21 strength of record points | vs. Bishop Rosecrans (6), @ Berne Union (2)

Come tournament time, Harvest Prep will be rolling with momentum and will be a force for any team in D3. The Warriors have two MSL-Cardinal games on tap this week, as this team will look to pick up two more wins to extend what could be a lengthy win streak.

6. Utica (8-2)
Last Week: No. 7 | 40 strength of record points | vs. Newark Catholic (2), @ #3 Northridge (9)

Utica has enjoyed two years of high level basketball after years of mediocrity. The Redskins have a big opportunity on deck at Northridge this week. The ability to pick up a top three win would really bolster Utica's resume.

7. Kipp Columbus (8-3)
Last Week: No. 9 | 38 strength of record points | @ Andrews Osborne (5)

Kipp Columbus picked up its biggest win in program history last week when they knocked off Bishop Hartley. A road loss to New Lexington followed, however, the Jaguars are looking to pick up momentum once again this week. This team will be a force come tournament time.

8. Heath (7-2)
Last Week: No. 10 | 40 strength of record points | vs. #6 (D2) Johnstown (8), @ Lakewood (3), @ Sheridan (7)

Heath has enjoyed a successful season in their first year in Division III after years of contending atop Division II. The Bulldogs have two tough matchups on deck this week against Johnstown and Sheridan. A 3-0 week would be massive for Heath's tournament resume.

9. Grandview Heights (8-4)
Last Week: No. 5 | 40 strength of record points | W @ Newark Catholic (3), vs. Liberty Union (6)

Grandview Heights' momentum was tempered with a home loss to Buckeye Valley last week. The Bobcats bounced back on Monday in a 20-point road win over Newark Catholic. They'll look to extend their winning streak to two at home against Liberty Union this week.

10. International (5-5)
Last Week: NR | 30 strength of record points | @ Whetstone (7), vs. Cristo Rey (1), vs. Centennial (6)

For the first time ever, International is ranked in the top 10 of Division III. The Lions picked up the best win in program history last Friday when they knocked off perennial City League bully Beechcroft. International has played a gauntlet of a schedule that won't get much easier this week.
