A breakdown of the top performers from Tuesday night

REYNOLDSBURG, Ohio -- On Tuesday, Reynoldsburg handed Pickerington North their first loss of the season, as the Raiders came out on top, 64-55.

Not only was the duel an exciting back-and-forth affair, but it featured prospects from all grade levels that project anywhere from Division I to Division III.

Below is a breakdown of the top performers from Tuesday night's game.

Jordan Fisher (Reynoldsburg / 6'6 Wing / 2025) The undisputed MVP of the evening, Fisher was sensational during his game high 21 point, four assist performance. The sophomore was at his best when he would beat his defender off the dribble and finish through traffic. When the defense would collapse, Fisher consistently found an open teammate. At 6'6, Fisher has nice length, but still has the physical strength and appearance of an underclassmen, yet that didn't prevent him from difficult finishes in and out of contact. His athleticism was on display with a transition dunk over a North defender. Defensively, Fisher showed really good instincts, on and off the ball, and recorded three blocks. His effectiveness as a two-way player reminded me of a younger Dailyn Swain, the Africentric senior committed to Xavier. The key for Fisher moving forward is to have performances like this become routine. If they do, expect the Division I offers to add up, as he already has received two from Youngstown State and University of Texas Rio Grande.

Jorden Bowens (Reynoldsburg / 6'6 F / 2026) While I mentioned above that Fisher looks his age, the same can't be said about the Reynoldsburg freshman. At 6'6, Bowens already has a strong frame and on Tuesday, he used his physicality well towards a 10 point, five rebound and three block outing. Bowens looked comfortable in the post and used his size advantage on contested boards. Still just halfway through his debut season, Bowens should continue to develop his footwork, hands and outside shooting. But so far, the freshman forward has shown the tools and motor to be a really good player. I would expect come tournament time, Bowens will be a tough interior match-up for most opponents. I would also expect interest from Division I schools to shortly follow.

Jeff Amapps (Pickerington North / 6'3 Wing / 2023) The best player for the Panthers on Tuesday, Amapps may be one of the most all-around athletic players in the area. At 6'3, he's built like a 100-meter track star, with a vertical that suggests he'd be pretty good in the high jump too. But make no mistake, Amapps is a hooper and that's why he finished with 20 points, nine rebounds and three assists. Amapps is explosive and a consistent threat on the offensive glass. On Tuesday, he showed off solid handles that allowed him to collect buckets in the paint. He didn't have many attempts from mid or long range, as outside shooting is not his forte. Yet it's his ability to guard nearly any position and his high-end effort that makes him a special player. Amapps would be a good fit at either the Division II, NAIA or Division III level and has currently received an offer from Saint Mary-of-the-Woods as well as an opportunity with Ohio Wesleyan.

Honorable Mentions: Reynoldsburg sophomore Toby Nwokolo showed glimpses of his potential on Tuesday. He finished with six points, but displayed moments of his high-end athleticism on both ends, most notably an insanely impressive recovery block on an Amapps' dunk attempt. A key for Nwokolo is at times to slow down and also continue to develop his outside shooting.

I came away impressed with the production from Pickerington North junior Jaiden Vital. At 6'2, Vital was mostly active in the post towards his 15 points and eight rebounds. He didn't do anything fancy, but was efficient and helped keep North in the game.

Although he didn't have his best outing, Arness Lawson certainly caught attention at times, especially in the second half. He was well defended, but still managed to finish with 13 points, 10 of which came in the final two periods. I would have liked to have seen him distribute the ball a bit more, but granted North as a team struggled to connect from outside the paint. Defensively, Lawson is a really good on-ball defender and came away with two steals. The sophomore currently holds an offer from Ohio University.
