A look at the top prospects from Delaware Hayes' win over Worthington Kilbourne

WORTHINGTON, Ohio -- Friday's OCC-Capital showdown between unbeaten Delaware Hayes and Worthington Kilbourne featured a few impressive prospects. Hayes had the upper hand in the game, pulling away in the fourth quarter of a 52-41 victory. Let's take a look at some of the top prospects from the game.

Jesse Burris (6'5 small forward / Delaware Hayes / 2024): Burris is one of the most talented and complete players in Central Ohio. There is not really a weakness in his game, as he can do everything you need out of a player offensively, while having a long wingspan which helps him defend guards and wings, while remaining a rim deterrent. Burris has a beautiful jump shot with a quick trigger release that is very difficult to block due to his length. The junior can really handle the ball and is a very good passer with great instincts and anticipation skills. We love the way he defended the ball on Friday, as he primarily was matched up with smaller, quicker guards but did a great job of containing them on the perimeter. Size and shooting is the name of the game in modern basketball and Burris has everything that scholarship programs are looking for.

Jake Lowman (6'4 forward / Delaware Hayes / 2024): Lowman is the perfect compliment to Burris in that he can take a lot of pressure off the Pacers' leading scorer. Lowman is a knockdown three point shooter who has a physical frame that allows him to bump bodies and score through contact. Lowman rebounds well, is a strong defender and plays the type of team basketball that has helped Hayes start out 6-0 this year. It's still early, but we think Lowman would be a tremendous asset for regional Division III programs.

Aidan Gallogly (6'3 shooting guard / Worthington Kilbourne / 2024): Getting our first extended look at Gallogly, we liked what we saw on Friday. The junior is a deadeye shooter that doesn't need much time or space to get his shot off. While his three-point shooting is what will initially catch your eye, we were most impressed with his ability to pass the ball on the move. Gallogly has great vision and playmaking instincts, which make him a tough cover with his ability to create off his jump shot. The junior has a strong physique and is an impressive athlete that really shined on the defensive end in taking the assignment of guarding Burris. We want to get more evaluations on him, but we are confident that he has Division II potential, as he just looks like the type of prospect that regional programs typically recruit.

Te'Mar Lewis (5'11 point guard / Worthington Kilbourne / 2024): Coached by his father in long time pro Ron Lewis, Te'Mar Lewis has the type of game that you would expect from a kid who has grown up around professional basketball. We love his confidence and demeanor, as his game reminds us a lot of former Ohio State legacy Dominiq Penn, son of Scoonie Penn, who like Ron Lewis, helped lead the Buckeyes to a Final Four. Te'Mar is a talented ball handler that knows how to play at different speeds. He can create off the dribble, is a capable three-point shooter and a pesky defender that is very good on the ball. Lewis has a great feel, is a strong competitor and is the type of guard that will give opposing coaches nightmares until the day he graduates. Lewis and Gallogly are a legitimate one-two punch that the Wolves can build around for the next year.

Delaware Hayes freshmen guards Chase Griggs and Jeremiah Russell are two impressive young players for the Pacers. Griggs is a physically advanced 6-foot-2 guard that plays with the type of maturity that you would expect out of a junior or senior. He is a knockdown shooter that is one of the team's better finishers around the rim. Russell is a talented guard that can play either on or off the ball. He plays with confidence and is not afraid to step up when his number is called. These two young guys will be talented prospects for college programs once they're upperclassmen.

Worthington Kilbourne senior Jayse Henderson is worth a look for junior college programs. The 6-foot-5 wing has not played very much high school basketball, but is a raw upside prospect that has the length and athleticism to be an impactful defensive player. He was the only one on the floor who really affected Burris, as he blocked his shot once and forced a turnover on another possession. Henderson knocked down a three in the first half, but was limited by foul trouble in the second half.
