COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The second week of the Central Ohio High School Fall League tipped off
on Sunday afternoon and once again, the competition was tough and the energy was up for this
week’s games. Players seemed more comfortable this week and it showed in the game play as
the teams with better chemistry were able to pull away in a week that had more blowouts than
last week. Let’s take a look at which players stood out amongst the rest this week:

Michael Malone ( 2023 / Bloom Carroll / F): The Bulldog had good feet in the post and a soft
touch around the basket, hitting numerous shots around the rim in different types of ways. He
was also an effective passer, getting the ball out to his teammates where they were positioned
to score. Malone had effortless strength that he put on display on the defensive end as well,
forcing offensive players to shoot over the top of him. He had good timing with rebounding the
basketball and was able to start his team’s transition offense by getting the ball ahead to a
guard. A tough-minded player on an always tough Bloom Carroll team that should once again
be a solid outing for any team.

Aidan Gallogly ( 2024 / Worthington Kilbourne / F): One of the most active players on both ends
of the court on the afternoon, Aidan was flying around the court looking to make plays the entire
time. On defense, the junior made opposing players shoot over him and played physically. He
also rebounded very well, fundamentally boxing out and skying to grab the ball. Gallogly got out
in transition as well, filling lanes and scoring at the rim a couple of times. One of the best
aspects of his game was the way he encouraged his teammates while he was out of the game,
constantly screaming positive words to his guys.

Neo McMorris ( 2025 / Gahanna Lincoln / F): Easily one of the two most athletic people we saw
all day, this kid started making an impact last week and continued on Sunday. McMorris was
under control and played really smart on the defensive end, contesting shots without fouling and
sending other shots to the sidelines because of his athleticism. The sophomore is a quick leaper
with good instincts on that end too, not falling for pump fakes and using his length to disrupt. He
finished at the rim with ease, throwing down dunks, hitting an up-and-under layup and a nice
floater as well. McMorris is far from a finished product, but he has all the potential in the world
and can be a star in the area soon.

Jaden Calloway ( 2025 / Bishop Hartley / G): A tough minded and mature player that stayed
poised through some tough calls that went against him and still found a way to be effective. He
made offensive players work hard to get a shot off with his long arms and quick feet, not
allowing drivers to blow past him. The sophomore also played nice help defense, coming off his
man to contest attempts at the rim. Calloway threw a nice pass off a post up and another
upcourt one that both led to points, showing his unselfish nature. He showed some range as
well when he drained back-to-back three pointers that widened his team’s lead. Mixing patience
with aggression, Calloway is set to have a big season this year.

Na’Varion Adams ( 2024 / Westerville North / F): The other freak athlete in the building at Ohio
Dominican, Adams motor was running high on Sunday afternoon. It felt like he tried to block
every shot that was in vicinity and succeeded more than not as he sent a couple off the
backboard and a couple to the next court. He was a dominant rebounder, using his athleticism
to just flat out-leap other guys that were trying to get the ball. In transition, Adams runs like a
gazelle and can finish at the rim with power by dunking on you or with his nice touch around the
rim. He fought through screens on the perimeter and didn’t let ball handlers around him. Vari
continues to be one of the most fun players to watch in the area.

Derek Goodman ( 2024 / Olentangy Berlin / G): The experienced guard played with energy in
both games and was a big time playmaker when the ball was in his hands. Goodman got to the
basket off the bounce and was efficient finishing around the rim. He was in constant motion
without the ball in his hands, continuously cutting towards the rim and kept the spacing good for
his team. The junior was talkative on defense, calling out screens, letting people know who he
was guarding, and when he was sitting down he called out shooters and stayed engaged.
Goodman tossed an impressive looking alley oop as well, despite him having a layup of his own
which showed how unselfish he was and that he wanted to get his teammates going. This
young man has every gift you want in a leader, he is one of the better players in his class.

Drew Gunnoe ( 2023 / Dublin Jerome / F): Gunnoe did some effective work in the post and had
a nice, soft touch from five feet and in. He showed that he could initiate the offense and play
make when the ball was in his hands. The senior also got to the rim off the dribble a couple of
times and was able to shift through traffic without turning the ball over. He was physical on the
defensive end of the court too, blocking a shot and forcing players to take tough shots over him.
One of the most experienced players in the building, he played like it, making hustle plays and
using his time to make an impact on winning.

Jesse Burris ( 2024 / Delaware Hayes / G): A flat out hooper who can get it done in a multitude
of ways. He helped his team stay unbeaten with his poise and offensive efficiency. Burris played
next level off of screens, continuously making the right choice if scoring or passing by using his
confident handle and his court vision. The junior showed his range as well as confidence in his
jumper when he buried a deep triple to go up by 10 points late in the ball game. He also handled
ball pressure well, not allowing it to speed him up and also being able to use his crafty handle of
the ball to get past those defenders. Burris is the real deal and already one of the better
prospects in the area, he is primed for another huge season coming up.

Jeff Amapps ( 2023 / Pickerington North / G): Another freak athlete, just in a different package,
Amapps is built like a tank with explosive legs. He threw down a thunderous dunk that shook the
rim and had a couple more attempts that came close to bringing the house down. The senior
has gotten better every time we’ve laid eyes on him and that won’t change as the year goes on.
Amapps excels on the defensive end of the court, putting ball handlers in a touture chamber
with not only his athleticism but also his tenacity and physical style of play. The amount of shots
he contested at the rim was on par with the tallest players in the building. On offense, he
slashed to the basket repeatedly and was able to finish at the rim while showing that he can

take the ball and go downhill himself. This young man is a small school’s dream and they should
be lining up to come and get him.

Jared Hart ( 2023 / Westerville Central / G): Another guard with varsity experience, and he
played like it as his team picked up their first win. He was smart and a good decision maker that
showed great instincts and the ability to finish at the rim in different ways. Hart showed the type
of confidence that a senior should, running the team with poise and making sure to get his
younger teammates in a flow as well. On defense, Hart displayed some quick hands by getting
them on the basketball to begin transition offense for his team. The Hawks are always a team
that can make runs in the postseason, Hart hopes to be an integral piece of that equation.

Luke Ruth ( 2023 / Bishop Ready / G): A cerebral guard that shoots the ball at a high clip and
usually ends up draining open three’s because of the way he moves without the ball. When the
ball gets in his hands, Ruth has a solid handle of it, is patient and moves at his own pace and
can explode to the basket with any guard in the area. His strong upper body helps him defend at
a quality level and he does not get pushed around on that end of the court, nor did he get beat
off the dribble while guarding the ball. Ruth looked like a natural scorer and a player that can get
to his spot from anywhere on the court, something he looks to carry into the regular season this
upcoming year.

Andrew Hedgepath ( 2023 / Pickerington Central / G): The confidence of a state champion has
been running through his veins all summer long as he’s continued to get better during the
offseason and it keeps paying off with absolute stellar performances. Hedgepath was draining
jumpers from deep, getting out in transition as well as running his team’s offense from time-to-
time with command. His length disrupted things on the perimeter for ball handlers as his quick
hands caused problems for opposing players in his two games on the afternoon. The senior was
a leader for his team too, getting people in the right places on offense and communicating on
defense so that his team could continue to smother the opposition. A state championship can
unlock a new level in a player, Hedgepath’s new level has been unlocked and he is ready to
have a dynamic senior year.

Christian King ( 2026 / Bishop Hartley / G): Coming out of the guard factory Berwick Middle
School into the new guard factory of Bishop Hartley, King has the makings of a player that will
keep growing and developing into one of the better guards in the area. He showed good control
of the ball as he operated in the lead guard spot. King was aggressive with the ball in his hands
and was able to get where he wanted on the court and finish with a nice shot. The incoming
freshman was also a solid passer as a driver too, continuously dishing it out to open shooters
when the defense collapsed on him. Huge upside and potential that will more than likely get
reached because of his hard work and the coaching he will get.

Jayden Buchanan ( 2023 / Ponitz / F): One of the bigger young men in the building, and threw
around his size with control and power. The senior moved well laterally, forcing other players to
shoot over the top of him. Buchanan was an excellent passer out of the paint and really looked
to dish it out and get his teammates involved. Around the rim, he finished at a high rate and

showed nice touch around the basket as well as through contact. Jayden stretched the floor by
knocking down a few jumpers that made the defense respect his inside-out game. A very
underrated senior that looks to continue making his mark on the high school game this
upcoming year.

Jordan Graham ( 2023 / Westerville North / G): Taking advantage of playing against smaller
players, Graham attacked and played in the paint most of the afternoon. Despite his team losing
both games, Graham scored on every level and used his strength to overpower defenders on
his way to the basket. The senior was in attack mode from the opening tip, shaking defenders
off him on his way to the rim and racing past the young defenders in transition. Defensively,
Jordan could stay in front of his man and force them into tough shots. As Graham looks to have
his breakout season at Westerville North, this was a successful step forward.
