COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Division II and III took center stage on Saturday afternoon and night, with teams all around Central Ohio punching their tickets to the Round of 64. Let's take a look at the action:
In a back and forth game with multiple lead changes, Heath came out on top of Bexley by a final score 63-57.
At the start of Saturday’s contest, senior Brandon McLauglin showed off his explosion for Heath by starting the quarter with a dunk and finishing the quarter with an alley-oop slam from senior Keylan Williams. Williams also provided an and-one conversion for the Bulldogs, but senior Chris Mitchell kept Bexley in it early by scoring their first seven points of the game. Heath held a 14-13 lead after the first frame.
The second quarter was back and forth and evenly played. Both teams' best players were making huge plays highlighted by senior Henry Brandt of Bexley and Williams of Heath with seven points each. Williams made a layup at the buzzer to give the Bulldogs a 29-28 halftime lead.
Heath controlled the tempo and really slowed down the pace in the third quarter by switching to a zone defense. Both teams struggled to score, combining for 12 points in the frame with Bexley taking a 35-34 lead headed into the fourth.
Senior Reece Huber was impressive on Saturday, bringing the energy, slashing to the basket and just doing every little thing that the Bulldogs needed. Heath started the final frame on a 9-2 run, with Huber scoring or assisting on all nine points, while hammering home two impressive dunks. Brandt answered this run with a triple, cutting the Bulldogs lead to just five.
Mitchell of Bexley and senior Payton Lees each traded back to back threes with 2:28 left. This was followed by Mitchell and Brandt each providing triples to cut Heath’s lead to three, but dunks by McLaughlin and Huber helped put the nail in the coffin on Saturday afternoon.
Bexley was led by their top two leading scorers from the regular season in Brandt and Mitchell. Mitchell led the way with a game high 23 points and a team high seven rebounds, while Brandt added 19 points.
Heath was led by a balanced attack from their five seniors, with all of them scoring nine or more. They were led by McLaughlin with a team high 17 points and five assists, while Huber tallied 16 points. Lees added all 11 of his points in their critical fourth quarter, while Williams pitched in 10 points and a game high eight rebounds. Senior Josh Guy also provided nine points for the Bulldogs.

Amani Lyles poured in 30 points, and JJ Simmons added 25 as Beechcroft (18-3) advances to the district semifinals to take on DeSales on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
A 15-8 third quarter was the difference on Saturday afternoon as the Pioneers took down a scrappy River Valley (15-7) squad. Jonathan Alder advances to the district semifinals to take on Bloom-Carroll on Tuesday at 7 p.m.

Seventh-seeded Johnstown (13-11) pulled the road upset as Cody Siegfried poured in a game-high 25 points, knocking off fifth-seeded Centerburg (19-4).
