COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Shooters shoot.

Exploding for a career-high 28 points on Tuesday night, Dublin Scioto junior James Maholm highlights this edition of stars of the night.

While Dublin Scioto suffered a close loss to Marysville in the contest, Maholm certainly did not disappoint, scoring 20+ points for just the third time this season as he turned in the biggest scoring performance of his career to date in the contest.

Maholm is a knock down shooter with the ability to get hot very quickly as he nailed one of his seven three's in the contest right at the beginning and did not slow down after that.

After knocking down one more three-pointer in the second and finishing the first half with 11 points, Maholm really began to heat up in the second half.

The junior guard knocked down a pair of triples in the third before converting on three more in the fourth quarter, showing off his high-level shooting ability all the way throughout the contest.

While Tuesday night's performance marked a new career-high for Maholm, we would not be surprised to see him continue to put up impressive numbers moving forward as he has the type of play style that will notch you a big scoring game here and there.

We are really glad to see Maholm thrive on the court as Frank DiRenna of ThisWeek News highlighted in an early season article that he is playing this season in honor of his dad who passed away last January.

Outside of Maholm's 28 point showing last night, there were multiple other big scoring performances around the area, so let's take a look at some of them below.

Evan Adair (6'0 SG / Liberty Christian / 2023): In a tough loss to Horizon Science last night, Adair put together a really solid performance, pouring in 26 points in the loss. Adair is a talented guard who can fill it up and score it in multiple ways as he has been a consistent contributor for Liberty Christian at the varsity level for several years now. The junior guard has participated in a handful of 270 Hoops events and we are glad to see him shining as he always plays hard and is a knockdown shooter from beyond the arc. The junior guard has shown some intriguing flashes of potential this season, also going for 25 points in a contest against Fairfield Christian earlier in the year.

Hanid Muse (5'11 G / Horizon Science / 2022): Dueling it out with Adair last night, Muse scored 26 points of his own and led Horizon Science to a double-digit win at home. Muse has shown flashes of potential for the Hawks this season, putting up some really big numbers on certain occasions. Outside of last night's 26 point performance, Muse also scored 26 points in a win over Licking Valley earlier in the season and poured in a 30 ball in a tough loss to Madison Christian. Knocking down five three-pointers in the contest, Muse showed off his shooting stroke while also converting on five two-point field goals. While they might not receive as much coverage as some teams, Horizon Science has a pair of talented guards in Muse and Roland Kargbo.

Mick Mead (6'0 PG / Centerburg / 2022): Mead has been one of the biggest breakout players in Central Ohio this season, taking it on himself to carry the load for Centerburg after losing Carter Jones to graduation. Turning in yet another excellent performance last night, the senior guard went for 25 points to lead Centerburg to a really impressive non-league win over Granville. Mead scored it in multiple ways in the contest, nailing four three's and three two-point field goals while also going a solid 7-for-9 from the free throw line. The 6-foot senior is a well-rounded point guard with an excellent understanding of the game as he can create offense for himself and others on a consistent basis. Keep an eye on Mead and Centerburg heading into the Division III tournament as he is an excellent leader with a ton of varsity experience.

Nic Minder (6'1 G / Northridge / 2022): Nailing five three-pointers and five two-point field goals, Minder led Northridge with 25 points on Tuesday night as they took down Ridgewood on the road. The senior guard did a little bit of everything for Northridge in the contest, also dishing out four assists, grabbing three rebounds and snagging four steals as well. The senior guard has shown the ability to fill it up like he did last night on a couple of occasions as he also turned in a 29 point performance against Zanesville early on in the season. He turned in a very consistent performance for Northridge on Tuesday, scoring 12 of his points in the first half and 13 of them in the final 16 minutes. Minder is a knockdown shooter who can fill it up when he gets hot, and that was exactly the case on Tuesday night.
