VOTE: 270 Hoops Player of the Week

CHOOSE FROM SEVEN NOMINEES FOR THEIR PERFORMANCES FROM JANUARY 24-JANUARY 31

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The 270 Hoops Player of the Week poll is back and we're looking to find out who was the best player from the past week. The players listed below were nominated by social media followers and input from the 270 Hoops staff.

To be nominated for Player of the Week, please tweet at @270Hoops with your nominee and their full stat line for game(s) from the prior week before Sunday at 6 PM.

This week's poll will go on through Thursday. You can vote each day. The player with the most votes will win Player of the Week!

The Nominees 

Peyton Heiss (Jonathan Alder) Three big wins and three big performances from Heiss this past week. In victories over Indian Lake (2OT), Bellefontaine and Heath, Heiss went for 59 points on 56% shooting for the Pioneers, who currently sits in first place of the CBC-Kenton Trail.

Cooper Davis (Olentangy Liberty) Davis continues to be on a tear and led the Patriots in two major wins over the weekend. First, was a 29 point performance over Upper Arlington which put Olentangy Liberty in first place of the OCC-Central. He then followed that with a 30 point performance against district rival Olentangy, where he tied his own school record of eight made three pointers. 

Tanner Compton (Columbus Academy) The senior guard had an active week, starting with a 22 point performance on Tuesday to defeat Grandview Heights. Compton was perfect on all six of his three point attempts. He then put up another 22 points in a win over Marion Franklin. Compton finished the week in a loss against Buckeye Valley, but was his team's leading scorer with 19 points. He also gets it done defensively, collecting six steals throughout the week.

Daniya McDonald (Whitehall) The sophomore guard has been only getting better as the season has progressed. She helped the Rams with two big wins over the weekend, scoring 21 points against Buckeye Valley and 28 points against Beechcroft. McDonald has been one of the hottest scorers in the area, averaging over 28 points per game in January.

Chloe Jeffers (Delaware Hayes) It was a record-breaking week for Jeffers. On Saturday, she scored 40 points, breaking the school single game record in a win over Mount Vernon. She also eclipsed the 1,000 point mark. This followed a 26 point outing in a win over Worthington Kilbourne on Friday and a 17 point effort in a win against Westerville North. Jeffers and the Pacers have now won 11 straight and in the lead of the OCC-Capital.

Owen Osborne (Buckeye Valley) Osborne has been the motor to help pace Buckeye Valley to a comfortable lead in the MSL-Ohio. In league wins over Worthington Christian and Columbus Academy, Osborne scored a combined 38 points on 59% field goal shooting, along with 9 assists and 8 rebounds. The Barons are 14-2 and undefeated in league play.

Jason Moore (Marysville) The sophomore center had two double-double performances, first with a major upset win over Olentangy Liberty and then on Saturday he scored a career high 22 points, along with 11 rebounds in a win over Marion Harding. Even in defeat against Dublin Jerome, Moore was his team's leading scorer with 16 points along with seven rebounds.
