COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Seemingly every season in Central Ohio we have a small school killer putting up huge numbers out of nowhere and the same holds true this season as Logan Elm's Tanner Holbert has been filling it up every night in the MSL-Buckeye.

While Holbert played a key role for the Braves last season, he has emerged as the guy for Logan Elm this year after they graduated a handful of really talented seniors in the class of 2021.

Tallying a new career-high last night, the junior guard scored over half of his teams points in a 55-46 win over Amanda Clearcreek, exploding for 35 points in the contest.

Holbert is a lights out shooter who can get inside and create offense as well. The 5-foot-10 guard knocked down four triples in last night's contest, converted on eight two-point field goals and also went 7-for-8 from the free throw line in the win.

Tuesday night marks Holbert's seventh 20+ point game of the season and his second game surpassing the 30 point mark as he is really enjoying a nice junior campaign.

While Evan Dozer has been dominant at Bloom-Carroll this season and will likely win MSL-Buckeye POY, Holbert's production in the league cannot go unnoticed.

We are excited to track the junior in the future as his performance this season indicates that he could put up some really big numbers as a senior as well.

While nobody in Columbus scored more than Holbert last night, there were a ton of big scoring performances, so let's take a look at some of them below.

Jesse Burris (6'5 SG / Delaware Hayes / 2024): Burris has emerged as one of the state's best prospects in the class of 2024 this season and continued his dominant sophomore campaign last night by pouring in 30 points for Delaware Hayes in a tough loss to Canal Winchester. At 6-foot-5 with a ton of skill, Burris is extremely tough to stop on the offensive end. He tallied 30 points last night and did not hit a single three-pointer, scoring nine times from inside the arc and also going 12-for-16 from the free throw line. The sophomore guard has the potential to become one of the best players in Delaware Hayes history as he is really starting to come into his own as a sophomore. Burris is a sure-fire scholarship player who will be giving teams in the OCC-Capital fits for years to come.

MJ Book (6'4 SF / West Jefferson / 2022): Book also poured in a 30 ball last night as West Jefferson made the short trip to Madison Plains and picked up a solid win on the road. While he did not outscore Holbert last night, Book's performance was arguably the best in the area due to how efficient he was. The senior scored 30 points in 30 minutes, grabbed nine rebounds and had three steals all while shooting 12-for-14 from the field and a perfect 9-for-9 from inside the three-point line. Book is a talented 6-foot-4 wing that small college programs should consider recruiting. While West Jefferson is one of the furthest west schools in Central Ohio and might not receive as much coverage as the big schools, we want to make sure Book gets the recognition that he deserves as he is putting together a great senior campaign for the Roughriders.

Tito Glass (6'3 SF / Marion-Franklin / 2024): Similarly to Burris and Book, Glass scored 30 points of his own last night as Marion-Franklin suffered a tough loss to Briggs in City League South play. Glass is very gifted physically and athletically as he bullied his way inside for a handful of finishes in the contest on Tuesday. Showing off a really impressive shooting stroke as well, Glass knocked down five three's in the contest, all of which came off the dribble. Also a standout on the football field, Glass is a really intriguing sophomore for Marion-Franklin. The Red Devils have had a tough go of things over the last few years, however players like Glass will benefit them greatly over the next few seasons as they seek to be a competitive program in the City League.

Devonte Curry (6'3 HG / Briggs / 2022): Dueling it out with Glass on Tuesday night, Curry scored 29 points of his own and ultimately helped his team pick up a league win in the contest. Curry is a great shooter from beyond the arc as he stood out at our Westside Shooting Camp this summer and is carrying it over to his senior season. While the senior has always been a solid shooter, he has shot up a few inches over the last few seasons and it is really benefiting him in his senior campaign. Knocking down seven three's in the contest against Marion-Franklin, Curry caught fire early and never let up as he led his team to a win. The senior guard also does a good job of not forcing things as he trusts his teammates and does a good job of distributing the ball when he needs to. Based on the box scores we have received, Curry has scored the sixth most points of anyone in Central Ohio this season and does not seem to be letting up anytime soon.
