NEW ALBANY, Ohio -- New Albany hosted Dublin Scioto in a quality scrimmage on Tuesday night. Here are a look at some top performers from each team.

Tysen Boze (2022)

As the only senior on the team, Boze commanded and led the offense all night. His talent to score at all three levels was on display as he hit 3 threes, a mid range jumper and a couple driving layups. He finished with 15 points and showed his bounce with a huge transition flush. Boze had multiple assists and generally made the right pass to find open shooters and cutters. 

James Maholm (2023)

Maholm was the best shooter on the court and showed his smooth shooting stroke while draining 4 threes. He did a great job using screens and pump fakes to get open and rarely missed when he shot the ball. He also used his pump fakes to get in the lane and hit a couple of mid range jumpers. The junior finished with 16 points and is an exciting prospect to watch for this year. 

Steven Bline (2023)

Bline led all scorers with 19 points and did all of his damage down low in the paint. He did a great job rolling off of screens and converting his chances down low. He also showed some post moves while hitting a turn around and a hook shot. The junior protected the rim and grabbed numerous rebounds both on the offensive and defensive end. Bline was a true big man and commanded the paint.  

Justin Perry (2022)

Perry led the way for the Eagles with 16 points and showed his ability to score at all three levels. The 6’ 7’’ senior hit two threes and a midrange pull up along with multiple layups. He showed his ability to compete inside as he also dropped in a nice post hook and grabbed numerous rebounds. Perry also played great interior defense as he contested many shots and came up with two blocks. 

Blake Pistro (2022)

Pistro was the second leading scorer for New Albany with 12 points. He showed his capability to score inside and out while knocking down two threes and multiple layups. He was great at rolling off screens and finishing at the rim while also dropping in a couple layups from post moves. The 6’ 5’’ senior is a true stretch big man who can score from anywhere on the floor. 

Joshua Evans (2022)

Evans was the definition of a two-way player as he was the third leading scorer for the Eagles and was the best defender on the floor. He was a great on-ball defender and came up with three steals which led to easy buckets in transition. Evans also had two blocks and altered many shots throughout the night. Along with the defense, the 6’ 4’’ senior had 6 points, all in the paint, and added a unique dynamic to this Eagles team.
