GRANVILLE, Ohio – The first week of the 2021 Central Ohio Fall League Powered by Nova Village and 270 Hoops began this past weekend on Saturday. There were lots of local and rural talent that came to play. Here are the some of the  top performers from week 1.

Derrick James (5'9 G / Canal Winchester / 2022): Derrick James came to play this past Saturday. Preparing for a strong senior campaign, his performance was dominant as he showcased his strong finishing ability, quickness, court vision, and shooting from beyond the arc.  He will be a force in Central Ohio basketball this upcoming season.

Troy Scowden (6'8 F / Buckeye Valley / 2022): Troy Scowden also had one of the most impressive showings this weekend. He was able to establish himself in the paint early and displayed impressive post moves. Scowden finished multiple buckets with defenders on his back. He also showed some ability to stretch out to shoot.

Chase Oullette (6'6 WF / Wellington / 2022): Chase Oulette played extremely well. His lengthy frame, high motor, and smooth jumper was entertaining to watch. His skillset is impressive, and he is a guy to watch for D2/NAIA colleges.

Javan Simmons (6'6 F / Gahanna Lincoln / 2022): Javan Simmons did not disappoint. The Toledo commit showed his toughness and strength in the paint offensively and defensively. Continuing to develop his game for the next level.

Caleb Iheukwu (6'6 WF / Westerville North / 2022): Caleb Iheukwu also put on a show on both sides of the court. His athletic ability is his strongest attribute, and he made a lot of highlight plays. Iheukwu is a prospect to watch this year for Westerville North.

Dayne Johnson (6'0 G / Marysville / 2022): Dayne Johnson showed his leadership ability as he played his role very well. Made a lot of tough shots and played with a killer instinct.

Seth Cooper (6’3 WF / Utica / 2022): Seth Cooper’s three-point shooting was an aid to his solid performance on Saturday. His athletic build and defensive showing were great to watch.

Alex Bruskotter (6’6 WF/ Shelby / 2024): Alex Bruskotter was solid. He played with a good pace and made some nice plays with and without basketball. Showed some maturity in his game which was evident in him keeping up with some of the older guys. Bruskotter has the potential to be a strong prospect as he continues to improve.

Caleb Miller (6’0 G / Thomas Worthington / 2023):  Caleb Miller played great basketball this past weekend. He was a sniper from three and was tough to guard defensively on drives towards the rim. Expect for him to have a strong junior season for Thomas Worthington.

Other notable performers: Andrew Hedgepeth (6’3 PG / Pickerington Central / 2023), Luke Ruth (6’2 G / Bishop Ready / 2023), Eljae Deas (6’1 G / Gahanna Lincoln / 2022), Jerry Saunders Jr. (6’1 PG / Pickerington North / 2022), Jacob Pleiman (6’6 PF / Botkins / 2022), Grant Burkholder (5’9 PG / Newark / 2023), Jordan Graham (6’1 G / Westerville North / 2023), Will Baden (6'10 C / Big Walnut / 2022)
