SUGAR GROVE, Ohio -- The freshmen took center stage on Tuesday night resulting in a 47-40 win for the Central Ohio team over a tough OCC squad.

Central Ohio was led in scoring by Emily Bratton with 16 followed by Kennedy Younkin with eight, and Ellie Bruce with six. The OCC team was led by Teagan Ng  with nine, Zoe Guice with seven, and Mia Raines with six. 

Let's take a look at some of the top performers on the night!

Emily Bratton (5'8 PG / Bloom Carroll / 2024) - The game's MVP and three point shootout champ, Bratton did EVERYTHING for her team. She shoots the ball consistently with deep range (five three pointers on the night), constantly has the ball on the string and makes the most difficult passes look effortless. She is always in the right spot at the right time, has a tremendous basketball IQ and is an outstanding leader on and of the floor. Bratton will be a high level Division I recruit. 

Aaliyah Younger (5'7 PG / Gahanna Lincoln/ 2024) - Younger had one of the highest motors on the floor Tuesday night. She is extremely competitive, has a quick first step, and handles the ball with great confidence. She played an abundance of minutes for a good Lincoln team this year, giving the team a scary good backcourt. We love the way Younger defended the ball all season, which was the case once again this past week. 

Mairin O'Brien (6'0 WF / Olentangy Orange / 2024) - Lengthy wing who showed some ball handling coordination, passing and rim protecting ability. O'Brien has great size and looks to be an intriguing athlete who could develop into a quality player with additional skill on the perimeter. Orange had a rough season, however, with talented young players like O'Brien and sophomores Emma and Kayla Delmore, the future is bright for the Pioneers.

Zoe Guice (5'6  PG / Westerville South / 2024) - Guice is a firecracker with a never ending motor. She is most effective when attacking the basket and in transition and is an excellent perimeter defender. She made a major impact for Westerville South this season and could play an even bigger part if she add some consistency to her perimeter game. The Guice family is full of buckets on the boys and girls side and Zoe is the next one in line. 

Ava Collins (5'6 PG / Dublin Coffman / 2024) - Collins has the potential to be the next great point guard at Coffman. She already has a great three point shot, handles the ball fairly well. If she can tighten up her handles a little and take shots more confidently, she could be a huge asset to the Rocks in the fall. The daughter of Coffman boys coach Jayme Collins, Ava is a gym rat who is only going to get better as her career goes on.

JoJo Eberhart (5'7 G / Marysville / 2024) - Eberhart has a huge amount of potential. The flashy lefty is most comfortable attacking the basket and finishing through traffic. She handles the ball smoothly and is hard to guard in transition. Her stock could jump dramatically if she can add some consistent outside shooting to her arsenal. The sister of former Marysville standout Bodie Eberhart, JoJo has the athleticism that helped her brother make the Ohio State football team as a wide receiver. 

Ellie Bruce (6'0 F / Fisher Catholic / 2024) - Bruce is a long, lengthy forward that gives everyone matchup problems. In a very physical game, she struggled to finish but was making great moves and was active on the boards. If she can work to finish more consistently through contact, she has the potential to be one of the best forwards in the state in the 2024 class.

Abbey Price (5'7 PG / North Union / 2024) - Price came into the game as one of the most experienced freshman on the floor. She stared every varsity game at North Union this season. She has a nice mid range jumper and handled the ball with consistency.  Keep an eye on Price as she'll be one of the top guards in the 2024 class in the Central Buckeye Conference. 

Abigail Adkins (5'9 PG / Johnstown / 2024) - She didn't shoot the ball well on Tuesday but the talent was evident. Adkins is a very confident ball handler who is going to be an absolute problem in the LCL. She sees the floor well, is a well built athlete with solid athletic tools and has the size, speed and burst to consistently get to the rim. Adkins was one of the best transition players on Tuesday, as she constantly made the right play and had the vision to deliver difficult passes down floor. Johnstown has a good one in this freshman!

Mia Raines (5'6 G / Olentangy Berlin / 2024) - Raines quietly hit two three pointers on Tuesday and has a beautiful stroke from the three point line. As the game went on, she became more comfortable and started making great decisions. As she grows her game, she could be one of the best guards in the OCC.

Teagan Ng (5'10 PF / Big Walnut / 2024) - Ng is a stretch forward who can hit shots. She offers great size and mobility. A nagging back injury kept her from playing to her peak potential on Tuesday, but we got enough of a glimpse to see that she has a chance to blossom into a standout in the OCC. 

Aliyah Moore (5'3 G / Granville / 2024) - Though she only made one three on Tuesday, Moore is one of the best pure shooters in the freshman class. On top of her three point ability, she makes defenders dance with her outstanding ball control. She hit more than 50 threes off the bench for a Granville squad who lost in the regional semifinal. She may be small, but Moore can get the job done on both ends of the floor. 

Harper Annarino (6'0 F / Granville / 2024) - Annarino is a lengthy forward who makes an impact from the three point line in. She is a tough interior defender and is a matchup nightmare for the opposition. She can handle the ball and occasionally knocks down a three. After seeing a lot of time for a team that won league and district titles, look for Annarino to develop into a key piece for the Aces moving forward as Granville has a chance to dominate for a few more years. 

Kennedy Younkin (6'1 F / Teays Valley / 2024) - Younkin was a major force inside on Tuesday. She has great awareness in the post and is a quality rim protector. She has good hands and finishes well at the basket. After a freshman season where she was a go to option for the Vikings, look for Younkin to develop into one of the more dominant players in the MSL-Buckeye over the next three years.
