A look at the latest girls power rankings in the area

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Power rankings are back for girls basketball! After a busy MLK weekend gave us several intriguing matchups, the rest of the week was relatively quiet.

Newark went on the road and gave the No. 6 team in the nation, Indianapolis North Central, a great game before falling in the final minute. With the Wildcats suffering its first loss, Watkins Memorial and Westerville North remain the only unbeaten teams in Division I.

This week will present a multitude of top 10 matchups, with a handful of them taking place on Tuesday alone - highlighted by the No. 1 Newark vs. No. 2 Westerville North matchup.

In Division II, III and IV, there was not much movement at all. The return of City League basketball means Africentric will be back to being a juggernaut in D3.

Let's take a look at the full rankings.

DIVISION I

1. Newark (16-1)

2. Westerville North (12-0)
