Collier and Lachey combined for 39 in a dominant win over Trimble

ATHENS, Ohio -- Trimble was no match for Grandview Heights in Tuesday evening’s Division IV regional semifinal at Ohio University. The Bobcats defeated Trimble by a score of 62-32 through the play of seniors Brian Collier and Luke Lachey.

Grandview Heights advances to the regional final where they will play Berlin Hiland with a trip to the state tournament on the line. The elite eight matchup will take place Friday night at 7 p.m. at Ohio University.

The first quarter was jam packed with Grandview Heights highlights. Just seconds after the game began, Charlie James found Lachey streaking to the basket for one of his two first half dunks.

Collier proceeded to hit nothing but net in his first three point attempt. These two talented seniors combined for 39 points and set the tone early on in the contest.

Collier finished the first quarter with four three pointers and Lachey had another powerful slam in transition. The Bobcats lead was stretched out to 33-13 at halftime.

The second half was more of the same for the Bobcats. The third quarter began with a James layup assisted by Lachey, followed by another Collier three.

Grandview Heights took a 49-21 into the final quarter. Freshman point guard and The Intro alum Tre Holliman had quite an impressive performance in his time on the floor, scoring six points and playing with lots of energy.

Collier finished with a game-high 22 points, six rebounds and three assists. Lachey added 17 points, 13 rebounds and three blocks. The duo provides a matchup problem for whoever they face and now has their eyes set on a regional championship.
