Bobcats outscored their opponents 235-113 in district tournament play

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- In the first of two Division IV district final games on Thursday night at Ohio Dominican, Grandview won their second straight district title, taking down Fisher Catholic 51-30 behind 19 points from Luke Lachey and 15 from Brian Collier.

While Fisher Catholic had it tied at 4-4 for about the first four minutes, Grandview quickly went on a 7-0 run capped off by a mid-range jumper from Lachey to claim an 11-4 lead with two minutes left in the first.

Despite Fisher Catholic cutting the deficit back down to four by the end of the quarter and keeping it this way throughout the first three minutes of the second, Grandview ended the half on a 10-2 run, as Lachey was simply too much and a buzzer beating mid-range from Aiden Leslie gave the Bobcats a 23-11 lead at the break.

Extending their lead to 15 points, Grandview caused a big momentum shift in the beginning of the third quarter when they used a 5-0 run capped off by a lay in from Lachey in transition to push the margin to 28-13 with 6:07 left in the frame.

Fisher Catholic had an answer, however, putting together their own 5-0 run and cutting the deficit to 28-18 with 4:25 left in the third following a triple from senior Bryson Vogel.

Unfortunately for the Irish, this was as close as they got for the rest of the night, as the Bobcats pushed their lead back up to 15 heading into the fourth, rolling into the frame ahead 36-21 and looking to secure their second straight district title.

Grandview did just that, as a slam from Lachey ignited the crowd and increased the lead to 38-21 early on in the fourth, a lead that they built on and rode through the finish line, dominating the fourth quarter on their way to another impressive victory.

Crushing their opponents in tournament play so far by a combined score of 235-113, Grandview could quite possibly be the favorite in the Athens regional as well, as the Bobcats have a fantastic senior duo of Lachey and Collier and most teams in the state simply don't have a matchup for Lachey.

They advance to the Athens regional where they will take on either Leesburg Fairfield or Trimble next Tuesday, March 10th at 8pm at Ohio University's Convocation Center.
