Hilliard Bradley won its 51st-straight OCC-Cardinal game on Friday

HILLIARD, Ohio -- Coming in as winners of its last 50 OCC-Cardinal division games, Hilliard Bradley (12-1, 8-0) had a target on its back against its only competition in the league in Thomas Worthington (12-3, 6-2) on Friday at home.

Starting strong and finishing tough, Hilliard Bradley took complete control of the league and extended its historic win streak to 51 games in a statement 53-38 victory.

Junior guard Keaton Norris had a bit of a breakout showing, going for 16 points and hitting some big threes to power the Jags to the virtual OCC clinching win.

Norris hit a back breaking three with seven minutes to go to extend Bradley's lead to 13 points in a five-point swing where Thomas Worthington missed a layup in transition moments before the junior's big shot.

The biggest swing in the game came when Hilliard Bradley turned a 15-13 lead early in the second quarter into a momentum-changing 12-0 run topped off by an unlikely three from junior Tison Alexander.

Trailing 31-17 at half, Thomas Worthington was not able to keep the game within single digits the rest of the way, as Hilliard Bradley's defensive dominance and offensive execution kept the Cardinals at a distance.

Junior guard Jalen Sullinger was limited on Friday, being held to nine points and only two after halftime. The junior picked up his third foul early into the second half and was not able to get into a rhythm for the duration of the game.

Norris led all scorers with 16 points, hitting a big threes and winning the matchup against Sullinger. Senior guard Matt Allocco added 14 points, while sophomore Tayshaun Mayfield finished with 12, including a few important steals in help side defense. Off the bench, senior Chris Mayfield pitched in six points and some stellar interior defense, aiding his brother Tayshaun who missed most of the third quarter with foul trouble.

For Thomas Worthington, junior post Tyrese Hughey was the Cardinals' top offensive threat, taking advantage of his touches inside and finishing with a team-high 15 points. No other Cardinal player finished in double figures, as Sullinger was held 7.5 points below his average.

With Bradley now locking up an OCC-Cardinal division where there is not another serious threat outside of Thomas Worthington, the Jags could roll into the district tournament with just one loss for the fourth-straight season.

For Thomas Worthington, the Jags still have a lot to look forward to and could still enter the tournament as a top five seed and will contend for a district title for the second-straight year
