Buckeye Division

Westerville Central 54, Olentangy Liberty 52

In a highly anticipated matchup in the top of the OCC-Buckeye division, it surely lived up to the hype as Westerville Central (7-2) pulled off a gutsy two-point win on the road.

The Warhawks were led by Quincy Clark and Tasos Cook, who combined for 31 points.

The Patriots fall to 5-3 after coming off a successful winter break trip to Nashville.  A highlight for Liberty in the loss was a 21-point showing from Henry Hinkle and an addition from Ty Foster with 12 points off the bench.

Coming off the loss, Olentangy Liberty has a tough matchup on Tuesday when they head to undefeated Gahanna.

Westerville Central will take on Big Walnut on Tuesday as they look to keep winning.

Westerville South 60, Westerville North 57

Westerville South (7-3) took a lead in the OCC-Buckeye as the ‘Cats grinded out Westerville North (4-7) behind a career-high 27 points from junior guard Tabari Howard in a 60-57 win.

Westerville South travels to Pickerington Central to take on the red hot Tigers on Tuesday.

Westerville North will hit the road on Tuesday for a non-league test against rising Marysville.

Olentangy Orange 61, Olentangy 59

A very fun filled night in the OCC-Buckeye with all three games ending in a one possession game.

Andre Irvin, Jason Foster and Ryan Cutler combined for 50 points (18 of those points coming in the 4th) as a 22-13 run in the fourth quarter allowed Olentangy Orange (7-2) to claw past rival Olentangy (3-8), 61-59.

Jake Elmore continues his hot shooting on the season in the loss with a 17 point performance.

Olentangy will try to turn things around as they host Upper Arlington on Tuesday.

Orange will look to keep winning when they host Hilliard Davidson on Tuesday.

Capital Division

Groveport 68, Newark 56

Its official. The OCC-Capital is up for anyone to take, as Groveport (5-4) relied on a career-high 31 points from junior Scotty Lomax to knock out division bully Newark (8-2), 68-56.

Lomax knocked down five threes and helped Groveport get off to a fast start, leading 41-22 at half in a game the Cruisers dominated from start to finish.

Newark was able to cool down Groveport a bit in the second half but not enough to come out with a win. Jaden Woods and Drew Ballinger combined for 29 in the loss, their second of the season.

Newark will host Mount Vernon on Saturday in non-league action, while Groveport will look to keep winning when the Cruisers take on Centennial at 1 p.m. at The Challenge at Pickerington North.

Canal Winchester 62, New Albany 61

The clock hit zero… and Bilal Sow hits the shot for a game winner, making things in the OCC-Capital very tight as Canal Winchester (7-2) moved into a tie with Newark atop the league with a 62-61 thriller over New Albany (8-2).

Sow definitely showed his clutch gene on Friday scoring all of his 16 points in the second half. Tre’Von Robinson and Sow combined for all 18 points in the fourth quarter, as the seniors rose to the occasion to lead the Indians to a huge win.

Keegan Schaub and Jayden Lewis each finished with 18 points in the loss.

New Albany travels to Mifflin on Saturday for a non-league matchup while Canal Winchester is off for nearly another week when they take on Newark on the road in a game with huge implications in the OCC-Capital.

Big Walnut 65, Franklin Heights 49

Big Walnut improved to 6-2 with a 16-point home win over Franklin Heights.

The Eagles will hit the road on Saturday for a matchup against Mansfield Madison while Franklin Heights will play Westland for a second time in less than two weeks when they host the Cougars on Tuesday.

Cardinal Division

Hilliard Bradley 57, Delaware Hayes 47

Facing a deficit late in the fourth quarter with its 47-game OCC-Cardinal winning streak on the line, Hilliard Bradley (9-0) did what championship teams do and clawed out host Delaware Hayes (3-6)  with a 10-0 overtime period to extend its near four-year win streak.

Matt Allocco led all scorers with 20 points and got great help from Keaton Norris, who pitched in 14 points in the win.

For Delaware Hayes, Paul Burris led the way with 15 points in an agonizing loss.

Bradley will be tested once again on Saturday when they take on Walnut Ridge at 6:45 p.m. at Pickerington North.

Delaware Hayes will look to get back on their winning ways on Tuesday at home against Dublin Jerome.

Thomas Worthington 67, Olentangy Berlin 29

12 different Thomas Worthington players scored as the Cardinals (8-2) dominated host Olentangy Berlin (0-8) in a 38-point win.

Thomas Worthington will look to follow up this stellar performance with another one Saturday against a tough Africentric team at 4:30 p.m. at Pickerington North.

Olentangy Berlin looks to win for the first time this season on Saturday as they host Watkins Memorial

Worthington Kilbourne 56, Dublin Scioto 45

A 16-7 run to start the game is what gave the Worthington Kilbourne (6-4) momentum and they rolled with it for the rest of the game in a big 56-45 win over Dublin Scioto (6-3).

Ian Schupp and Mitchell Tomasek combined for 35 in the win to lead the Wolves to its third-straight win. For a program that has never won more than 14 games in a season, Kilbourne will have a real shot to surpass that number if they can continue to play at the level they have as of late.

Benni Lombardo led the Irish with 19 points in the loss.

Kilbourne will look to keep rolling when they take on Teays Valley on Saturday, while Scioto will be challenged once again with top-ranked Hilliard Bradley on Tuesday.

Hilliard Darby 43, Dublin Jerome 41

A well rounded team effort and display of defense is what the doctor ordered as Hilliard Darby (4-5) picked up a huge win on the road against Dublin Jerome (5-6), 43-41.

Sophomore Gio Roberts led the way with 10 points as the Panthers improve to an impressive 4-1 in league play. Dan Lee and Ryan Nutter combined for 28 in a fourth-straight loss for a Celtics team that began the season at 3-0 with a road win at Newark.

Jerome travels to Delaware Hayes on Tuesday looking to improve on its 1-4 record in league play while Darby will play host to Thomas Worthington.

Central Division

Dublin Coffman 64, Central Crossing 48

Keaton Turner, Hammond Russell, Ajay Sheldon and Nash Hostetler combined for 50 points as Dublin Coffman (7-3) used a 24-10 third quarter to take down Central Crossing (2-8), 64-48.

Devon Miller had another strong game for the Comets with 23 points in the loss.

Coffman will look to stay hot on Saturday when they hit the road to take on Dayton Ponitz. Central Crossing will also go on the road on Saturday when the Comets face Columbus Academy.

Marysville 57, Upper Arlington 55

With both teams coming into Friday’s matchup undefeated in league play, 38 combined points from Garrett Taylor and Jack Christian helped Marysville stake its claim atop the OCC-Central with a massive road win against Upper Arlington.

In the loss, Quinn Corna led the way for the Golden Bears with 19 points, while Magnus Entenmann added 14.

Upper Arlington looks to flip the script at Olentangy on Tuesday while Marysville will play host to unbeaten North Union on Saturday.

Don’t look now but the Monarchs are alone at the top of the OCC-Central for the first time in 270 Hoops history.

Hilliard Davidson 39, Westland 28

Never before in 270 Hoops history has a team been held scoreless in a quarter and went on to win that same game. Well, that streak was broken on Friday as Hilliard Davidson (3-6), who was outscored 3-0 in an offensively challenged second quarter, shut down Westland (1-9) for an important win for the young Wildcats.

Ryan Paris led all scorers with 15, as the sophomore continued a breakout season in leading the ‘Cats.

Davidson will be challenged once again on Tuesday when they take on Olentangy Orange.

Westland will hit the road and pay a visit to Franklin Heights for the second time in less than two weeks, as the Falcons are the only team the Cougars have beaten this season.

Ohio Division

Pickerington North 50, Reynoldsburg 37

Chris Scott and Hunter Shedenhelm led the way in scoring 16 points each as Pickerington North (7-3) raced past Reynoldsburg (4-5) on Friday

Sean Moore went for 14 points in the loss.

Pickerington North will look to keep its momentum pumping for a sixth-straight win when it takes on Northland in the nightcap of The Challenge event on Saturday at 8 p.m.

Reynoldsburg goes on the road to Zanesville on Saturday looking to get back in the win column.

Pickerington Central 65, Grove City 42

Conner Maciag, Tahleik Walker and Garner Wallace combined for 34 points, as Pickerington Central (6-3) used a 21-9 second quarter to race past Grove City (6-4) on Friday. Despite 20 points from Brock Waits, the ‘Dawgs could not get the stops it needed to slow down a deep and talented Tigers team.

Pickerington Central will look to stay hot when they take on Westerville South in a non-league  matchup on Tuesday, while Grove City will hit the road to take on former OCC-Ohio rival Newark.
