A look at the prospects from private open gym run on Tuesday

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Twice a week this month, 270 Hoops and Satch Sullinger have come together to host an open gym at an undisclosed location for youth in the area. Let's take a look at the prospects from Tuesday's action.

Desmond Watson (6'4 WG / DeSales / 2021): Watson is a physically imposing wing who has really improved as a ball handler and overall scorer in the past year. Loves to get downhill to the rim where he can finish through contact. Improving as a jump shooter, as he is showcasing a smooth one to two dribble rhythm pull up. Watson is a presence on the glass and can defend guards, wings and bigs thanks to his combination of size, speed and strength. We would not be surprised to see him contend for a scoring title in the Central Catholic League, as a lot is going to be asked of him in order for the Stallions to get back to the district finals.

Keaton Turner (6'0 PG / Dublin Coffman / 2020): Fleet footed point guard who is becoming one of the very best in the area. Turner has special 'start-stop' ability and is a master of the blow by. Has developed a reliable in between floater, is a talented finisher under the rim and a near knockdown shooter when given any amount of space. We are big fans of Turner's game, as he's always had the ability but was tiny coming into high school. Growing by about a foot since his freshman year, Turner's physical traits have caught up to his natural ability, which is a good sign for him going forward. We think he could definitely garner some high Division II interest this winter based on what is going to be expected of him. Coffman is going to give him the ultimate green light this year which means Turner could put up some huge numbers.

Magnus Entenmann (6'8 PF / Upper Arlington / 2021): Entenmann is perhaps the biggest stock riser of any 2021 prospect, going from unknown to legitimate Division I prospect over the course of a year. Has an intriguing frame with very broad shoulders and a lengthy wingspan. Entenmann is a natural shooter with a soft touch and is a reliable catch and shoot threat from all over. Has a great feel, sets good screens, defends the rim and runs the floor very well. The next step for Entenmann as a prospect is to continue to add strength and work on lateral quickness. Son of a former professional basketball player and coach, so the genetics are there. Could end up being one of the elite long term prospects in the class.

Landon Tillman (5'7 PG / Westerville Central / 2021): We have grown to love and appreciate Tillman's game this month, as he just knows how to play the point guard position. Commands the offense, is a very talented ball handler and can knock down shots with his lightning quick release. Tillman is effective in the ball screen game, makes good decisions, can lead a team and create offense when nothing else is available. Despite not having great size, Tillman competes on the defensive end of the floor and puts great pressure on the ball. We are big fans of players who play the game the right way and are good teammates, as Tillman checks both boxes. We look forward to watching him in a more expanded role for Westerville Central this winter.

Henry Hinkle (6'0 PG / Olentangy Liberty / 2021): One of the more talented point guards in the area, Hinkle is a confident handler and shooter who has really improved this offseason. With some valuable reps under his belt after helping lead Olentangy Liberty to the state tournament, Hinkle has clearly grown from that experience as he plays the game with a veteran's feel and presence. If you leave him open, forget about it, as he has become a knockdown shooter from distance. On the ball, he is a crafty handler who has good vision and decision making ability. In the past, we wanted Hinkle to substitute flash for substance, and he's done that which has helped him become more effective as a lead guard.

Daviyon McDonald (6'5 PF / Dublin Coffman / 2022): Rising stretch big prospect with some tools in his bag. McDonald moves very well, is an above average athlete and capable shooter from the perimeter. On the boards, McDonald is active where he can rebound in and out of his area. He's a capable ball handler who runs the floor like a guard and can play and defend multiple positions. We would like to see McDonald assert himself more, as he has the potential to be an important impact player for Coffman this winter.

Ethan Smith (5'10 PG / Olentangy / 2022): A standout from The Intro last year, Smith made the trip to the open gym for the first time on Tuesday. The 5-foot-10 guard is a talented shooter and ball handler who plays with a lot of confidence. Smith loves to compete, can create for himself off the dribble and is a quality passer on the move where he displays good vision and touch. With Olentangy graduating its all-time leading scorer in Sean Marks, Smith has big shoes to fill but we think he's capable of filling at least some of the void that Marks leaves behind this winter.

Tasos Cook (6'2 WG / Westerville Central / 2021): While we hadn't seen a whole lot of Cook prior to this summer, he's become one of our favorite talents in the 2021 class. The 6-foot-2 wing is a near elite athlete who has clearly put the time in to improve his game this summer. Cook has a quick first step, can get into the lane and is starting to finish at a high level thanks to his strength and physical build. The next step for Cook as a prospect is to become a more reliable shooter, which will make him tougher to defend since he's already a threat to score off the bounce. Cook has the physical tools to become a lockdown point of attack perimeter defender.

Nash Hostetler (6'2 WG / Dublin Coffman / 2021): You may not know of Hostetler yet, but you will soon. The 6-foot-2 guard from Coffman fits the Rock archetype that we've become accustomed to over the years, as he's a skilled jump shooter that plays with max effort on both ends. We loved the energy that Hostetler played with, as he ran the floor hard, played intelligent defense and boxed out on nearly every trip down the floor. When scoring opportunities came to him, he took advantage, knocking down a high percentage of his shot attempts.

Ben Wilhelm (6'4 WF / Westerville Central / 2020): One of the standout performers from the 270 Hoops Open Fall League last year, it was nice to see Wilhelm again on Tuesday. The 6-foot-4 forward does all the little things, communicating on defense, calling out screens, boxing out, rotating on defense and moving without the ball on the offensive end. Wilhelm's activity level helps him remain productive, as he helped contribute to several defensive stops and cleaned up any close range scoring attempts that came his way.

Ajay Sheldon (5'11 PG / Dublin Coffman / 2022): It's still early, but Sheldon has a few of the personality traits that CJ Saunders had for Coffman just a few years back. A competitor at the point guard spot that loves to defend on ball and create off the dribble, Sheldon had a great open gym, delivering accurate passes on the move, finishing around the rim and disrupting ball handlers on the other end of the floor. The rising sophomore has great quickness, knows how to facilitate offense and is always on the move off the ball which helped him get open for a few easy buckets on Tuesday. Look for Sheldon to move into the starting lineup for Coffman this winter, where he and Turner will form a terrific one-two punch.

Kalil Camara (6'3 WG / Westland / 2020): Camara is one of the elite athletes in the area and is very hard to stop in transition. The senior from Westland is a high wire act that loves to get out into the open floor. Thanks to his explosiveness, Camara did a great job rebounding and affecting shots in help side defense on Tuesday. Camara's offensive game is still coming along, as his feel is in the developmental stages, but we were encouraged with the improvements he made as the day went on. When he's engaged and moving without the ball, Camara is more effective and makes a great impact on the game. Showed the capability to hit perimeter shots on Tuesday, as that part of his game is also still developing. There's a lot of potential here, as Camara has the athletic tools to become something. We'd like to see him tighten up his handle and become a better decision maker in order to reach his potential.

Jesse Hains (5'11 PG / Dublin Coffman / 2020): Hains is a rising senior who should expect to see quality minutes this winter for the Rocks. Hains is another quick Coffman ball handler who got by defenders to the rim quite a bit on Tuesday, despite struggling to finish at times. We like the confidence that Hains plays with, as he's always looking to make something happen and plays with good energy on both ends. With Coffman losing a great percentage of last year's scoring, the Rocks will need everyone to step up and we see Hains doing that this winter.
