Makhale Massey (6'3 WF / Northland): Massey's freshman season was over before it even started as he suffered a torn ACL last fall. Back healthy and feeling normal again, Massey showed why he was highly regarded as one of the top incoming freshmen in the City League last year. A lengthy and athletic wing who plays with an absolutely terrific motor, Massey was the best prospect on the floor in Northland's win over Xenia. Massey gives max effort on each play, as he contests every shot and defend the rim. Massey is an impactful player, as he gets up for rebounds and can push the break. Massey was able to score from offensive rebound put backs, mid-range pull ups and straight line drives to the rim. A strong finisher with either hand, the righty goes hard on both ends of the floor and is the type of prospect that can keep Northland atop the City League. All things considered, Massey had the best performance that I've seen out of any sophomore in the City in the last several months. With elite level athleticism and a growing frame, Massey's upside is incredible, but more than that, he plays with a motor that will make him reach that sky high potential in due time.
