Central District Seeding Guide: Division I

Our Central District seeding guide returns!

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- As the high school basketball regular season nears a close, we bring back the Central District Seeding Guide for Division I. We have introduced new metrics this season to measure true strength of record and have a few seeding models for coaches to analyze before seeding is finalized.

270 Seeding

Using our true strength of record metric and our own analysis of the area, this is how we would seed the district. We took into account head-to-head matchups, where teams finished in their respective divisions and the type of rosters some teams have going forward when injuries come into play.

True Strength of Record

The following seeding is true strength of record. We went through all 48 teams in Division I and applied point values for wins. We put teams in tiers for Division I, II, III and IV. The higher the tiered win, the more points that are applied. The strength of record points that have been calculated all season long were also applied in this metric.

For out of town wins, we used where teams are ranked in the state to apply points for those wins.

This is not how we would seed the district, but a representation of the quality of wins that each team picked up throughout the season.

*Disclaimer: For the schools such as Chillicothe, Logan, Mount Vernon and Tri-Valley that play in conferences outside of Central Ohio, we did our best to apply metric points for those wins. With the lack of information available online for those programs, the following numbers may not be as accurate as other area programs.
