The top two D4 teams will do battle this week

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Heading into the second week of the Division IV Power Rankings, not much has changed here. Fisher Catholic remains at the top while Danville make its entrance among the elite.

Let's take a look at the top five teams and the games that lie ahead.

1. Fisher Catholic

Record: 8-4 (6-1)

This Week: Thursday vs. #1 (D3) Harvest Prep, Friday vs. #2 Berne Union

Fisher Catholic remains at the top after a strong week in which the Irish dispatched Grove City Christian by 26 points on the road at Grove City Christian on Tuesday. Missing several key varsity players on Saturday, Fisher Catholic still took care of business at No. 3 Fairfield Christian, holding on for a 60-55 win. The Irish get its toughest challenge of the season as No. 1 (D3) Harvest Prep comes to town on Thursday before a home matchup vs. No. 2 Berne Union on Friday. Already defeating Berne Union this season, it is puzzling how uneducated and lazy state poll voters have Fisher Catholic below the Rockets at this point in the year.

2. Berne Union

Record: 9-2 (4-2)

This Week: Tuesday vs. Northside Christian, Friday at #1 Fisher Catholic, Saturday vs. Patriot Academy

Berne Union had just one game last week, surviving at home vs. Millersport in a 52-51 win on Saturday. The road gets a bit tougher this week as a road matchup at No. 1 Fisher Catholic awaits on Friday. Dropping its first game of the series vs. the Irish, 52-39 on Dec. 15, Berne Union is looking to show that it deserves the No. 8 ranking in the state that it received last week by the Associated Press.

3. Tree of Life

Record: 10-1 (6-0)

This Week: Tuesday vs. Gahanna Christian, Friday at Delaware Christian

The highest ranked team in the area according to the AP, Tree of Life is looking to keep rolling this week. Two MOCAL league games await, as this group of primarily juniors are making great headway this season for the Trojans. Due to inclement weather, Tree of Life will have to take on Shekinah Christian twice in its last four games in a series that should decide the MOCAL.

4. Shekinah Christian

Record: 9-3 (8-0)

This Week: Three games against opponents to be announced at the Rosedale Invitational.

Shekinah is rolling through the MOCAL, but suffered a hiccup last week, losing at home to Newark Catholic, 75-63 on Tuesday. With three games looming this weekend, Shekinah will be looking to gain some great momentum heading into a Feb. 5 matchup vs. Tree of Life.

5. Danville

Record: 7-4 (5-3)

This Week: Tuesday at Lucas, Friday vs. Fredericktown

Despite going 1-2 last week, Danville enters our top five mainly because we made a mistake by leaving them out last week. The second best team in the KMAC behind and undefeated No. 4 (D3) Northmor, Danville will be a team to keep an eye on in March. Senior guard Skyler Durbin has been outstanding this season for the Blue Devils, who will look to win a tough one at Lucas before hosting league foe Fredericktown on Friday.
