Westerville North took on Hilliard Bradley for a highly competitive scrimmage on Tuesday

HILLIARD, Ohio -- Meeting up for a high-level scrimmage on Tuesday, Hilliard Bradley and Westerville North took full advantage of the opportunity for some highly competitive ball before the start of the season. Through four quarters, Westerville North had the advantage overall, outscoring Hilliard Bradley 66-56 when both teams top players were on the floor.

Julius Brown (5'10 PG / Westerville North / 2018): As good of a two-way point guard as there is in Central Ohio in 2018. Brown was terrific on Tuesday, playing both ends of the floor with great toughness. Brown made an impact on the glass, with his ability to score it in multiple ways and especially with his ability to pick up opposing guards 94 feet away from the basket. Brown has special quickness and toughness, as he has improved his game in every area since last season. Brown finished with 17 points, six rebounds, three assists and five steals to lead the way for Westerville North.

Jeremiah Keene (6'1 PG / Westerville North / 2019): Keene may have taken a little bit to get going, but when he caught fire, he was the toughest player on the floor to stop. Finishing with 17 points, Keene broke out in the third quarter, draining five-straight threes, hitting two from way beyond the three-point line. Keene is a special talent when it comes to scoring and can be especially deadly when his shots are falling. Another quick guard who is a tough perimeter defender. Keene finished with 17 points and three assists.

Julian Malone (6'2 CG / Westerville North / 2018): It is great to see Malone back healthy on the court. Back in 2015, Malone was one of the area's all-around best guards in his class, but football injuries would derail his sophomore and junior seasons. Finally healthy and done with football, Malone looks like the physical combo-guard that we were in awe of going into his sophomore year. An athletic combo who plays a tough brand of ball on both ends, Malone does all the little things for North, in addition to being the team's unquestioned leader. The Warriors have missed Malone's toughness the last two years and with him back in the fold, this team will have a chance to be very good. Malone finished with 14 points, six rebounds, five assists and two steals on the night.

Phil Alston (6'7 PF / Westerville North / 2019): A late bloomer with great length and athleticism, Alston could be the x-factor for North this winter. At 6-foot-7 with an estimated 6-foot-10 plus wingspan, Alston flies all over the floor and can make a big impact when his motor is running. Alston had a strong fourth quarter to finish with 10 points and six rebounds. Alston has very good quickness for his size and can defend both on the post and perimeter.

Braden Norris (6'0 PG / Hilliard Bradley / 2018): Norris had a very strong outing against an athletic backcourt, finishing with 20 points and four assists. Norris has been the best point guard in this class from start to finish, as he has continued to add more wrinkles to his game, while remaining productive at a high level. Norris got to the free-throw line quite a bit, as he knocked down 7-of-8 attempts at the charity stripe. Norris keeps the ball on a string, rarely makes a mistake and can punish defenses with his limitless range. Oakland got a steal here as Norris can compete at any level.

Matt Allocco (6'3 PG / Hilliard Bradley / 2020): If Norris is the area's best shooter, Allocco isn't far behind. With as quick of a release as you will find, Allocco knocked down three triples in the first half to finish with 13 points on the day. A lengthy 6-foot-3 guard who still isn't done growing, Allocco has great upside at the lead guard spot, as he can score at all three levels and is a tough defender who competes. Allocco is a pure winner and will have a major sophomore season for a Bradley team that can win big this year.

Isaiah Speelman (6'6 PF / Hilliard Bradley / 2018): One of the most productive players across the state, Speelman had a strong evening, finishing with 16 points, five rebounds and two assists. A talented offensive player who can score it with great variety, Speelman knocked down three triples in addition to a few low post scores. Speelman is the jack of all trades for Bradley, as he is going to be an instant impact player at Cedarville next winter.
