COLUMBUS, Ohio -- For the second time this season, Dublin Coffman freshman point guard Dominiq Penn is the GNC: Beat Average Player of the Week. Penn takes home the award after going for a career-high 39 points against Linden-McKinley on Feb. 18.
Receiving 68 percent of the vote, Penn remains the only freshman to win the award this season. In the performance vs. Linden, Penn poured in a season-high for any Coffman player, while also tying the school record with nine three-point field goals.
Penn has been outstanding this season, averaging 15.2 points per game, including performances of 39 and 28 in the opening and closing games of the regular season. You can catch Penn and Coffman on Tuesday at rival Dublin Jerome in the sectional finals.
